Any idea what's going on here?

It's not a cashout, as I haven't had one recently, and the green doesn't change, but it's a really big dip for a price correction.

Crowdcoin (neoscrypt) had a HUGE chain split yesterday and LOTS of miners on multiple pools wound up on the wrong side of that.  Ahashpool lost 750 CRC due to orphans.  Might be the same with ZPool.

That's the danger of mining unregulated shitcoins.  Never know when the network itself is gonna have shenanigans.

I think zpool has some issues right now. Although all my miners are running, I don't see any hashrate on the wallets page on zpool. I don't get any blocks either. Guess I have to shut down the miners and come back later.

[*****If hashrates are missing, the db is currently behind*****]

Wrong I see my miner submitting shares without being accepted then after a minute or two I get a few shares, they come and go randomly even going without shares several minutes while sending work and that should be steady mostly with a static difficulty

Well i finally figured out how what others were saying about payout worked.

Then i thought about how Zpool was out of coins and then the payout scheme didnt make sense until i actually calculated a buy sell on Bittrexx and noticed the amounts to be the same.

So here is What Zpool is PROBABLY doing.

You mine 1 coin of A and get paid in .8 coin of B,
the coins are similar but with fees and all that you get less. The fees seem to not add up though.

So what i did was actually sold coin A and bought coin B with btc....
And guess what??? the coin bought was practically the same amount.

So Zpool has both coins and when you get paid in a coin they hold. They are CHARGING you the fees for if they sold what you mined and bought the coin you want payment in..

Which they are not doing as is clear by them being out of coins. So basically they are keeping the buy sell fees for themselves on top of the 2% they clear. Oh and i guess on top of the Dev Fee they now put in their
miner.

LOL

Greed is what gets you caught.

the LOL part is when you expect someone to donate you those coins instead buying them as if it was you...

zpool's API has some kind of limitation on it. If you poll it too quickly it returns nothing.  Thus, appearing down.

If my miner has just polled the API, and then I restart it, 9 times out of 10 the API return is blank.  Yes, it's very annoying.

1 query every 10s is the limit.

it is obvious that your retries are exactly 10 seconds apart, make them 15-20 and it will work fine most of the time.

It is obvious the retry is 11 seconds.  But I did that to prove my point.  the API response is meh.  Even though my polls are every 60 seconds, it's still error prone.

Anybody has leveraged the API to get data from ZPOOL in a Google Sheet?

I tried but got lost in the proceed.   Huh I believe though that should I have something to start with I could achieve what I want.

Thanks for your support...

I was able to get LibreOffice Calc to make an external data link to the WhatToMine.com website. It gives me real-time info without all the stupid flashing pop-ups and extra crap no one wants to see. It's rough going, since I'm not a VB programmer. I had to write some macros to fire when the sheet opens, closes, and updates the highest-paying coin.

So this is working in Excel then?  Can I have a look at it?  Maybe I can leverage this for me and the community.

Not excel, LibreOffice Calc. I can send you a copy of the sheet if you tell me where to send it. It's pretty simple. It should work OK in excel, though. I opened Calc, added a sheet or two, and went to the last sheet, top menu  sheet > link to external data, and give it Whattomine's ASIC url:
(https://whattomine.com/asic?utf8=%E2%9C%93&factor%5Bsha256_hr%5D=14000.0&factor%5Bsha256_p%5D=1370.0&scryptf=true&factor%5Bscrypt_hash_rate%5D=500.0&factor%5Bscrypt_power%5D=800.0&factor%5Bx11_hr%5D=15000.0&factor%5Bx11_p%5D=1200.0&factor%5Bqk_hr%5D=450.0&factor%5Bqk_p%5D=75.0&factor%5Bqb_hr%5D=450.0&factor%5Bqb_p%5D=84.0&factor%5Bcost%5D=0.1&sort=Profitability24&volume=0&revenue=24h&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=abucoins&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bitfinex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bittrex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bleutrade&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=cryptopia&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=hitbtc&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=poloniex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=yobit&dataset=&commit=Calculate)

then select html_1 for the ASIC table. If you're interested in SHA, or other algorithm, you can go to that page, and use that url instead. There are 3 different types of tables. if you select 'all', it'll bog-down your app when it refreshes from updating so many fields. It works pretty well so far. I've checked it against WhatToMine for several days and it works. It's easy to get the sheet corrupted though, and not update the fields. I use LO Calc to keep track of the pools, addresses, and coins, receive addresses, the profits, etc.  It's pretty handy if you don't have Awesome Miner. I'd like to use it to profit-switch. You can capture the current top coin name, pull the url from a table and pass it all to SSH I guess -- I'm giving it a try anyway. It'd have to be easier than doing all that coding, plus, you have the added functionality of tracking the pools, etc.

So, I guess I'm screwed on those Linx Coins from zpool? The txid's
about 3am, CST 1-24-18

don't show up in https://chainz.cryptoid.info/linx/.  So, is this a common occurrence in mining pools? Can I get those coins back somehow?

Greed is what gets you caught.

When getting paid in an alt coin, whatever you mine gets converted to BTC, then it gets converted from BTC to whatever you want to get paid out to.

I thought everyone already knew that if you get paid in any other coin than BTC, you're taking a loss because it's being double-exchanged.  That's why it's best to get paid out in BTC.  You only go through one exchange, so one less fee to pay.

If you want to mine a particular coin and hodl that coin, Yiimp-based pools such as zpool, ahashpool, zergpool, and hashrefinery are not for you.

Put something in my tip jar if I made your day. Smiley

Thank you so much. Say I wanted to mine Crowd on Neoscrypt only - can I get paid IN crowd coin or do I have the option of converting that to Bitcoin as well? I'm just asking because Crowd seems to be at the top of whattomine.com - just wondering what the best way is. Thank you

The only thing you can pick is:
1) what algo to mine
2) what coin to be paid in.

The rest, like what coin to mine; is automated and controlled by the stratum services.
