Has anyone noticed that in just a few days we've put together the majority of orders for 8.6th worth of chips? Anyone have any thoughts about how adding that to the network alone will multiply the difficulty? Let alone if BFL finally ships? Will the 8.6gh rig I ordered even be able to pay itself off in a year?

Please refund this payment. Thank you.

Current hash rate: 57 TH/s
New expected in July from chip order: 8.6 TH/s

(57+8.6)/57 = 1.15  or  15% increase. About the same as this last difficulty increase.

I expect the difficulty to be double by June, which would mean,

(114+8.6)/114 = 1.075  or  7.5% increase projected.

Par for the course over the next 7 to 8 months. Why this long?

Because that is how long doubling each month will take until the electricity cost is most of revenue. That seems like a feasible limit before people shut down due to low operating margin. (Assuming constant btc price and we all know how likely that is!)

2^7 = 128
57 * 128 = 7296 TH/s projected.

Now plug that into your mining calculator. We can eventually remove 30 TH/s for GPU drop outs but that will be unnoticed by that time.

Hmm, I've potentially been scammed for a lot of bitcoins and am unsure if I can pay the fiat fees.
I would like a refund to my senders address if that's at all possible.
If you can't then I'll likely buy some of yours when they arrive. I'm sure these will be easy to sell for some time after chip supply dwindles. Can't right now as I have to mine more coins first.

Ok problem solved then, no need for a refund.

Well,

Ordering
A lead time of 10+ weeks in the current sentiment takes ages. We can right now observe the dramatic exchange rate fluctuations, and we might also see some of the competing ASIC manufacturers succeed and flood the market with cheaper solutions. Before you order, please do your risk analysis.

I understand there are quite some newbies ordering (with sub-five total posts), and I am wondering if everybody really understands what he is doing. If you do not know what a private key to an address is or whether you control an address, mining ASICs might not be what you are looking for. I really don't want to be rude, but to openly warn that to prevent tears afterwards you need to know exactly what you are doing here. Note that your orders are binding, i.e. if you later decide you don't need the chips, I can't refund you.

Nevertheless, since your payment was for the pending batch 3, I refunded you.

This will be added as a policy to the OP.

@zefir
I have done two orders which you can accumulate into one (from the same address: 1KGPWpFi4UyruQ5ZNohgsJ5oUeZxaTLFUy).
Still needs 3.3k more before ordering Batch 3, right?

zefir, did you talk to someone at Avalaon about your bulk orders and maybe know if the different batches will be shipped from Avalon at the same time?

Has anyone noticed that in just a few days we've put together the majority of orders for 8.6th worth of chips? Anyone have any thoughts about how adding that to the network alone will multiply the difficulty? Let alone if BFL finally ships? Will the 8.6gh rig I ordered even be able to pay itself off in a year?

Please refund this payment. Thank you.

trans hash sent to zefir in pm

Actually it's currently more like 120T extra from chips already ordered.

Well, yes, I'm trying. But as Avalon stated there is zero support, it seems that it also includes not answering PMs.

What I can tell for sure is my order status:
Code:
Order   Date            Status          Total
#9921   April 20, 2013 Processing ฿782.10 for 1 item
#9725   April 16, 2013 Chips ordered ฿782.10 for 1 item

Seems like the first batch went already in production (with all the other early ordered wafers), while the second is being processed, which I assume means waiting to collect more orders for a larger volume production.

I'd say the potential delays between batches are negligible, since there are other lag sources involved, like a maximum PCB assembly rate per day. I understand that time-to-market is everything right now, but whether we wait 10 or 10.5 weeks for the chips is almost irrelevant, imho.

Please read OP. It goes the other way around: you send coins and announce your order here or in PM. Only if required (disputes, mismatches) you have to confirm with your address signing that you sent the coins. That's the most efficient way to handle it, thanks for your understanding.
