Hello, I have set up a Google hangout for chats with the FTC core devs. Who wants to join, please contact me ftcorbsup@gmail.comthats not how it works This is for development related questions and answers. Most people find it boring and don't care much, however some people prefer to communicate directly. Ah, I see now.

You could give this a try: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575079.0 (at least to create your config with ExpertMode) But could also be that you have to adjust your drivers. Regards, ChekaZ

To dev team .... as an fyi (not trolling you I like feathercoin)
Normally i make my own wallets from source but earlier tonight I was setting a vm up running windows & went to dl the win wallet distributed.
Of course i ran it in virus total & was pretty tripped out to see 16 of 57 positives !!
I sent a tweet to @feathercoin on twitter since we follow each other but just thought you should be aware of this. Many pc's now block what they deem 'suspiscious' files by default meaning potential new people may not be able to get the client (win qt is what this happened with)
Just passing this info on but since the exe files were not on github i decided it may be best to just let you know vs. opening an issue.
With the talent & track record of your team I am sure it will get resolved.

That's because many antivirus scanners label any mining software as malware. Remove the bundled CPUminer and upload to VirusTotal again.

ok / i just made my own qt i guess you are saying the installer i never unpacked has a cpu miner !! That would explain it. Thanks for reply, sorry for any disrespect ... none intended. Personally i think FTC has a great dev. team & promising future. It certainly has overcome many challenges and has evolved successfully so far. Of course i ran it in virus total & was pretty tripped out to see 16 of 57 positives !!

Hi
Anyone able to update the intro to this thread? Thought I would do a little re-write and fix some of the grammar if you want it.
Created in 2013, Feathercoin is one of the oldest and most reliable cryptocurrencies. Since its start as a Litecoin clone, FTC came a long way. It utilizes a unique ASIC resistant algorithm that allows everyday people to continuing mining with just their CPU's and GPU's. Compared against Bitcoin, Feathercoin can offer faster and more scalable transactions and improved decentralization. Its swift, secure and reasonably distributed network is the backbone of Feathercoin. A secure hobbyist network continues to mine the coin, but we are building advanced functionality as well including: anonymous transactions, user friendly multisig, comments ín blockchain, 3rd party wallet plugins and more. FTC is one of the most secure cryptocurrencies available. Its a safe store of value due to its well balanced distribution model and long term development support. Feathercoin thrives as a leader in the cryptocurrency movement to replace traditional banking systems.

So...I somehow managed to lose the password to my wallet. It's not much, but its ~7000 coins. I remember some of the parts of the password, but not all. Are there any tools anyone knows of to help recover a password? Even maybe some brute-force scripts or something? Any help at all is appreciated!

Private key encryption is done based on a CMasterKey, which holds a salt and random encryption key.
CMasterKeys are encrypted using AES-256-CBC using a key derived using derivation method nDerivationMethod (0 == EVP_sha512()) and derivation iterations nDeriveIterations. vchOtherDerivationParameters is provided for alternative algorithms which may require more parameters (such as scrypt).
Wallet Private Keys are then encrypted using AES-256-CBC with the double-sha256 of the public key as the IV, and the master key's key as the encryption key (see keystore.[ch]).
EVP_aes_256_cbc(), EVP_sha512(), 25k iterations crypter.cpp and crypter.h tell the story Good luck. You'll need it.

Anyone heard of or used this? https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecoverHi there, I have not personally used this, but there is a rather large thread devoted to password recovery, including use of btcrecover.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.0If you have a rough idea of the password (at least bits of it, length, for example), then you are in with a chance of recovery. Cheers Dave
