can I mine this with a normal CPU or do I need a $1,000 graphics card with special software on certain ports? I downloaded the GUI about 30 minutes ago and began utilizing the mining feature. I guess 2.1 ghz is worthless?

I have a bitcoin address that anyone can send BTC too, so I'm going to post it on my sig because I think someone is going to randomly give me their BTC: 1D37qouguK5rNh1mSZDocgVCvA2rxsAgLp

You can mine with a CPU, but you won't have awesome results. You'll get 4-50 kh/s depending on your processor. Let's just say you can get 12 kh/s, then you would get a couple of coins a day. Probably not really worth it. And within 1-2 weeks you wouldn't even be getting 1FC/day at 12kh/s. If you really want to mine, even for this you would need to pick up a video card... no need to spend $1000 if you have a motherboard with a free PCI-E slot and decent power supply. Then you get pick up a Radeon 7950 for $300 or less. I'm mining with 2 7950's right now and at current difficulty should be able to get at least 200 coins/day.

I finally just went straight to CGminer, and I'm averaging 635 kh/s per card right now. Cards are overclocked to 1100 GPU clock and 1500 mem clock using MSI Afterburner. My settings were copied from the litecoin hardware comparison page: --shaders 1792 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 100 -I 20 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24000 -g 1

I took some cues from previous ideas posted here, if there's any reward I hope it's shared. Edit: Thanks for the tip.

I think it would look cool if you were to get rid of the actual "F" and the bottom fin on the left side, and mirror the top two fins I circled where the "F" was. That way it's like two "F's" facing opposite directions but at the same time making for a nice logo.

May have dropped off a few, but nothing terrible. I think I actually started w/1075 then changed it for some reason that I can't recall atm.

So, everybody else is doing the "round", coin thing ... let's roll! (Concept image only, rough draft). It's saved as a .png at tinypic so no transparency on the edges, white background in place. FC: 6keX8yc3XhbJipvDGkTEMtsaYR79UnvN9d

I can not do graphics, but I can picture in my head this coin... see on the bottom of the feather there are a few fins that make out an F (forget about the top part of the feather)... further to this... the top fin and bottom stem of the feather look like arms of a Clock........... the roundness of the coin further signifies a clock... why not make the F out of the feathers and the feathers can be the arms of a clock... the clock indicating speed - speed of feather coin.. Also you can make the numbers for the clock around the edges in binary, separated by a ".". so like 1.110.11011.11011100. and so on and so on... anyone want to try to take this image out of my brain and actually try to make something of it? maybe I am thinking too much?

Anyone can say to me why so many people believe in this currency in particular? There is no exchange at all, and at least 10 other active crypto-currencies.
