Attentions. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE COIN LOOKS of HIGH CraftManship: Slightly Reflective Mettallic Collor is better: like platinum or shined silver, not like Dull Silver (or of course bronge).

This is why I preferred this one:

It's shinier and subtler compared to the chosen design:

This is going to be worked on this weekend by the same person who created the mining calculator and stats pages.

http://benhohner.com/feathercoin/statistics.php

I have created a zip with a 256x256 PNG and favicon.ico file of the winning logo.

www.feathercoin.com/iconset.zip

That's fast.
Well, difficulty update for today :

In two days, the difficulty will change from 23.883 to 36.51 (+52.87%)
In one month, it's possible that the difficulty may become bigger than 100.

For comparison, at the moment Novacoin's difficulty is 120.115 and Litecoin is 404.82

The winner is nprussell with this entry. This one works especially well at a lower resolution because of the stark border and I like the feather. Every other coin goes with a letter so lets break the mould.

Thanks to all those that entered. I have sent a small bounty to everyone who submitted an entry.

Can the following entrant please send me a FeatherCoin address so that I can send you your bounty?

skull88

Now I'm off to create an icon set for distribution. When the binaries are updated to include the new icons, I will reply back here.

THANK YOU for having the contest! And it's a very nice logo for the coinage, good job NPRUSSEL, you worked hard, focused and distilled, very good.

Agreewith above.

Next STEP to fix the website.

ALSO excelent Logo , real COINS have images NOT Letters!

Altough i like the logo  I think this solid metalic finish is much better, it is much more like a real coin.

Cant you combine the semiconductor watermark mith this metallic tecture?

Attentions. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE COIN LOOKS of HIGH CraftManship: Slightly Reflective Mettallic Collor is better: like platinum or shined silver, not like Dull Silver (or of course bronge).

Dont possition the coins value low, let the market decide.

looks alot better with silver border.

Good choice of logo, I really like it. Also, I thought of a slogan. Feathercoin: platinum to bitcoin's gold. Tongue

Can someone explain me more about 0.1 FC transfer fee? When and why do I have to pay it? Where does it go? It can't just vanish, can it?

It goes to the miners.  When a block is found it gets added to the reward for finding that block.  So instead of a 200 FC reward, the miners will get a 200.1.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

Is it just me, or dos teh sendmany command also require .1FC per address. I have tried 3 times, each time I was hit with ~10-20FC transaction fees.

But there are probably more poeple paying that 0.1, so can miners get like 300 FC? And why is this fee necessary?

Basically to stop transaction spam.

If there was no fee, what would stop somebody from trying to clog up the network with thousands of tiny transactions?

The fee comes in after the number/size of transactions hits a certain level in a block.

I googled feathercoin and can't even find any information on it.  How does one even determine the current "market" value?   Or is it not traded on any exchange and just between individuals at this point?  Sorry if these are dumb questions but I honestly don't get it.

It's only being traded between individuals right now. A few people have put together a basic Google doc spreadsheet with manually entered buy and sell orders, which you execute by PM'ing the person and working out a deal that way.

even if one doesnt use that spreadsheet directly, it at least is a guide to the current value if one wanted to buy or sell.
