http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/12/04/us-bitcoin-auction-idUSKCN0JI1FB20141204Lynzey Donahue, a Marshals Service spokeswoman, said the government had 11 registered bidders and 27 resulting bids. 11 registered bidders - that sounds low... anyone know how many there were last time? Significantly more IIRC .. I think there were about 10 names on the leaked partial list EDIT : Seems pretty clear nobody here knows if it is 1 bid can be for multiple blocks lol 27 is defo small if it can't. If it can, fuck knows!

Wow!!!!!!!! If that's true, then that is surely a small number of bids. 27 bids for 20 lots? I may have to revise my thinking based on that news if it were true. yes but maybe someones 1 bid was for 10 blocks @390 bids vs bidders? I would assume 27 bidders = open to bid on all blocks.. still a decent amount of action to compete with if so. Yeah.... TOO much mystery here... 27 bidders is very bullish however 27 bids would be very bearish. |

I agree We know that at least 3 of those 11 bidders are syndicates, and it makes zero sense to join a syndicate to bid for a block of 2 or 3k coins above market as you can easily buy them on exchange in that quantity. So that leaves 8 potential serious bidders. |

Why do people believe that bids were around USD 400 ? these are blocks of 2 and 3 k. if I were to buy one block I would rather look for a discounted bid of at least 5 percent, otherwise i could buy them on exchange. in addition if i knew that there are only 11 bidders, which implies a low demand i would add another 5 percent...
