Would you look at that hash-rate decline.. does the difficulty dropping not make it easier for some older hardware to stay online.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Dumpers and pumpers waiting on confirmation of results or something. Where is the insiderrr infooo lol

And then they will pump and dump. So what's the point?

If you abandon your illusions about bitcoin fixing all of worlds financial problems, while making a bunch of dumb people rich, whose only ability is to buy coin and sit on their ass, then you could actually enjoy these constant pumps and dumps. The winners in this game are those who have proper timing. If you're unable to time your trades, then you should play different games.

That would be true only if the electricity costs are within certain limits - or if you're mining on solar. I guess we'll see the hashrate rising again when the BTC price will get to a number which is affordable for energy hungry miners to mine again and cover their costs. Roll Eyes

Looks at the date and the number of coins ... that was the last auction ... sorry  Undecided

It's 29 mins old according to google.

I don't care how old the URL is ... read the article ... FAIL

EDIT : Or just believe it anyway and buy lots of coins cos a URL on google said so ... your call

The article was posed today.  that's actually a fact.  It had 6 views before me, and now it's 40 views.

One word = repost

(I could post the magna carta if I wanted to, still would not make it new(s))

No the article is from today.

It seems there are a lot of people posting that the auction was 30,000.  Just lots of people out there with blogs and thin on facts.

This guy says 30,000 and 27 bids.  He seems to have merged the facts from both auctions.
http://bitcointradingroom.com/2014/12/04/new-usms-bitcoin-auction-for-30000-btc-ends-price-could-be-above-market-rate/

He just copy/pasted from here.
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/new-usms-bitcoin-auction-for-30000-btc-ends-price-could-be-above-market-rate/

Are you taking the piss? (bit harsh)

Two more bs articles do not make the repost, not a repost..

I think you will find he copied the headline and pasted from here

https://gigaom.com/2014/07/02/bitcoin-holds-price-gains-as-single-mystery-bidder-wins-us-marshals-auction/

But really you knew that already right? (right?)

did you read it "The Second Bitcoin Auction"  and "27 Bids"  it was published yesterday.   It can't be 30k and 27 bids and be a repost.  How can someone repost from July with facts about the number of bids (27) for a second auction 5 months in the future.

Like I said, they wrote the article yesterday and got their facts wrong / mixed up.  A bit like you really.

Bidding closed for US Marshals #Bitcoin auction.  Pantera placed bids below the market.  Results out tomorrow by 2pm PST.  Probably earlier.

Protip:  Take a chunk of the text from the article you feel may be a repost/plagiarized, and ctrl V it in Google's search box.  Now look at results:

Note the date.  Unless great minds think alike, this was ctrl V journalism.

While nobody can time the market all the time, this is some of the best advice I've read in this thread.

I've been winning by doing automated trades based on limit orders from seeing support and resistance levels.  To buy when everybody panics and sell when traders are in jubilation is too difficult for the typical human.  Just leave it to an automated process.

Only 27 bids, not bad guys... But this only shows lapse in interest amongst the bagholders of BTC, maybe based on the decline of the Bitcoin price...

These entities have lost a little bit interest in the Crypto World maybe because of the threats made by the Officials that they will ruin all this and shut down the use of such cryptocurrencies...
