The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I actually don't really expect a drop below 300 except for maybe a quick flash crash due to really bad news or another bear whale, or if btc fails.  I do expect a 2+ month consolidation in the mid 300s.
