Price is pretty much guaranteed to be $600 or higher after halving in 7 or so months, so this rise will probably go to $600 or higher when there's not much risk of buying right now.  You need to be suicidal to try and short this under $600.  This could be "the big one" and it just keeps on going after $600 though.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Any best guesses as to what is fueling all of this?

I'm guess its the saggy stock markets and the constantly growing interest in the blockchain?

Plus North Carolina is now a bitcoin friendly state   Wink lol

More than NY anyways  Grin

International money will pour in and keep pouring in, just like it has into every real-estate market in the world. Money needs a home. That's always been my best guess.

We are up 8.6% in the last 24 hours. I'm opening a short position. This thing is gonna dip. I will buy back in at 435, or maybe 420.

or you'll close your short at 475 and buy back in 485.

Not gonna happen. Even if people are dumb enough to buy at $450+ at this point, eventually someone has to take profits and pay bills. I am patient enough to wait for a correction.
Can I just leave this here? Grin

Up 9.7% in 24 hours! This is not sustainable. Buyers are slowing down. If you want profit, better take it now. Correction is imminent.

Every $10 you call for a correction.  I guess eventually you'll be right...

Eventually yes, but I won't lie about it. This shit fucking hurts. I hate being wrong, and I hate losing money. I am gonna stick this out. I'm not taking this loss. The crash is coming. Maybe it will happen tonight while you are asleep. Better cash out now. You may wake up tomorrow wishing you had.
Even if it does crash... so what  Smiley just hang tight till next pump or real rise based on consumer demand,,,,it seems to always come back up. Even if people buy in right now, eventually they will make their money and profit back. Just a game of patience I think.

I do not see anything out there going on that would cause a real turn against bitcoin. More bright spots and positives for the future than negatives.  For sure  Smiley

Also, the bock size debate has even possibly found an alternate option,,, without a hard fork.... so that helps too a little

question is: what happens at 500$?

i can't imagine us going through it just like that. correction is very likely, maybe down to 450 again...

Probably what we saw at $400 ceiling this run up. Lots of bucking and bears trying to win; They will be slaughtered. Every. Last. One.

I presume we will test $485-$500 all weekend. Then bust the $500 nut Monday or Tuesday. Then again, our Sunday is China's Monday. Be on your guard. Hodl!

After adding up all the Bitcoin needed for online payments, remittances, micro-transactions, the unbanked and other applications in the year 2025, he concludes that one Bitcoin will, by then, be worth $17,473, and that the present value of a Bitcoin would need to be $604 today to support that amount of economic activity in 2025. If Luria’s projection becomes true, anyone investing today would see a 40+x return within 10 years.

Forbes seems to believe we are headed $604+, then $17,473

IDK but the psychological effects of seeing 500 and the attention BTC might get could help hold the price up... just a thought. I know I would be astounded if it does lol

This train aint driving backwards. It only makes stops where some passengers get off and others join the ride.
Question is how far are you planing to travel or you plan to get out at next station?

I've got a sleeper next to the bar car.  Grin

UP, of course.

Don't you recall that BTC prices have been suppressed for a year, and maybe even 18 months?
