Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

A correction is on the way, the 4th sub-sub-sub-wave of the second sub-sub-wave of the strongest sub-wave of wave 5.
There are now 16.5k coins on the ask side, but most waiting to be sold at higher prices.

We all know how your previous analysis went sub sub sub par!

The correction is already happening in China, but nothing yet on Gox or Bitstamp.

This correction was coming, as I mentioned. It was delayed on Gox by a couple of small whales who bought high.

Yeah, quite certainly there will be a bubble in bitcoin, and then we are talking about a serious bubble where million satoshis is called a millionaire and similar crazy stuff.

Remember, long term, not much above $300k is realistic Wink

hehehe, interesting to watch. almost as if the market is unsure if the correction should continue or not. re-testing 270 is still a real possibility, IMO. If we'd go there, we'll see what is stronger, hunger for more coins, or fear. however right now it looks like bitstamp has enough buying pressure to stop it from going further (that'd be a new development, bitstamp *stopping* a correction, instead of initiating it oO)

Managed to pull the correct manoeuvre this time (sell high, buy low, but not as low as I could have in the hindsight Tongue ), compensating a minor loss from this morning. Holding 100% from now on.

I'm in the process of grudgingly moving some btc back to gox for trading cause bitstamp is just awful for that : hope to pull a similar move (only going to risk 20% of btc max for trading)

Sometimes faster coins are better than cheaper coins.  If you want some today, check out localbitcoins or bitcoin-brokers (which is like local bitcoin but with concierge service)

The technical support meltdown in #mtgox right now is quite a spectacle to behold.

Is this in regards to people not being able to get fiat out? Or is it fiat AND BTC?

yes it is both. gox is fucking lol.

cant get fiat OR BTC

hahahaha

It apparently is related to mining pools dumping there nice new coins directly onto the exchange. So apparently with minted coin, they need 100 confirmations before they can be spent? So he mixes your transfer out with the new mints, and presto...you are stuck waiting 3 days for your coins...

Ah! That's a pretty good technical explanation really. I just tried a BTC withdraw out of curiosity. Lets see how long it takes.

EDIT: Just got the BTC as I clicked posted. Took no more then a minute. Withdrew 10 BTC as a tester (didn't want it to not work and leave a whole chunk in limbo!)

So anyway, seems like FUD to me unless the amount makes any difference (which I doubt).
User sturle reported something about a coinbase related 100 confirmations bug in the thread Mt.Gox withdrawal (the gathering).
From all I have seen, it was mostly people flipping out, when Gox had to refill from cold storage.
