So Stamp looks like its hung up at 398-399...time to sell my 1.5BTC and call it a day?

Only if you want to know what regret feels like.

No.

It might go down before it goes up, but Bitstamp will close the distance for sure.  There will be a big surge on Bitstamp once Bitfinex can trade there again (probably later today or tonight). There are a lot of pent up "buy" orders there that are stuck.

Bitstamp proper is still a sellers exchange, so its lagging (again).

It seems to be more bullish on the initial upswings than the slow steady climbs.

For people who only read this thread, this story has the potential to have long term consequences: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1qk8yl/bitcoinism_is_it_time_to_boycott_all_us_bitcoin/

This shit deserves its own thread!

In general I'm fairly bullish...I know BTC has a long way to go and will be worth truckloads...but when Stamp gets hung up like this I feel like if I don't do something i'm going to "lose out" on the gains I've made so far.

But then to keep it in perspective it's only 1.5BTC...but its my precious, hard earned BTC...so i'm torn.

Hmm. 10% is not an unusual distance between gox and stamp, is it?

why not sell .25(or less) when you see it starting to tank and then use that money to buy more. It's going to correct but it's not going to collapse and ultimately if you can afford it your best bet is just to hold on.

Has anyone here used the Butter Bot? if so how well does it work? I have not so much experience trading so even if I don't get optimum profits I want something to at least keep me with a mostly constant positive input.

Yeah I've been using a similar approach to what you've stated...except that my amount was for .5BTC...ultimately I don't have the discipline or unemotional approach to this. Thank goodness I'm only doing this as a little something on the side...I don't think I have the titanium balls to go in full tilt like some of you guys.  Sadly, I'm still putting a few $ in my 401k, IRA, buying a few random stocks, a savings account, essentially spreading it around and BTC is sort of my next item for my portfolio.

I did the trial of butter bot for a week, but it was during the run up, so the bot didn't actually do anything because i did the initial buy...however, I've since purchased it and mainly am using it to watch things when i have to step away from the computer for extended periods of time.

So while i can say that it does it's thing, I've not used it enough to say its made me $ or saved my bacon when things came falling down.

Straight talk a US Government Snitch

Now depending of your view point you could ask is it a surprise that DPR is where he is?  Was SR past its use-by date and has served its purpose. To Alternative coins look attractive with 100% knowledge from the start who is behind it and is truly decentralized.
With this known affiliated friendliness to the DOD Bitcoin is tainted to say the leased.
