That was another bear smashed. The dump was so quick and gone that my trailing stop did not even trigger  Shocked
Lucky me  Cool

But it seems like a sign that the market is rudderless but restless. Can’t afford not to be in it I think. Quite contrary to my personal sentiment, a rocket could be in the works.

This latest dump almost looks like a fat fingers error made in the margins market on Bitfinex. The amount of shorts on Bitfinex also spiked during the same minute and then it went down sharply in the next minute. I suppose the whale could have set a very tight stop loss. One could also blame it on spoofy, I suppose.

In my totally unqualified view, we've already bottomed out. Sentiment has been on the rise for months.

I don't have a single RL bitcoin friend. There are only coinless peasants around me and its hell trying to talk to them about crypto without them telling you why its not going to work or how its a ponzi scheme. So for me its either being friendless or homocide. But the second option is extremely tempting...

Go to meetups.  Have a beer.  Just make sure it’s not a Bitcon Cash meet up advertised as a Bitcoin meet up....

I confess that while I have no RL BTC mates either, I have mixed feelings about ever going to a random meet up.  It's a pain being surrounded by no-coiners, but the contrarian in me fears that a meet up might be about as grimly enjoyable as a school reunion.

I do like the WO Support Group™ though - it would be awful going through all this without some fellow travelers to share the ups and downs with.

Frankly, that is probably why the WO is essential.  When it's boring I am not alone.  At rocket and moon times it's been a joy raising a glass to virtual friends.  When things have been down it's often been a pick-me-up... there have been embattled times when a Sparta meme has helped me sleep more soundly, I can't deny that.  It's why I wanted to fight for it when Theymos felt obliged to put it on ice.

On balance I am probably likely to remain 'virtual-only', but I will try and stay open-minded.  I like to party and I'd be tempted to look up a few of the undoubtedly likeable souls here if i was passing through their neck of the woods.

However, strolling to a roll-up of people who were BTC-heads who just happened to be near to me?  I doubt it.

I guess I finally capitulated. I selected 6500-7000 in the poll. I've always chosen bullish before this and been wrong so so so many times. Does that mean the price is finally going to rise?
If it makes you feel any better, I selected "$7,000-$7,500".

This has been an awful Bitcorn season.

Not sure what the harvest is gonna be like in December.

I guess we are still waiting on you to capitulate then, it will rise only after the very last hold out falls.

Hodlers don't capitulate. I think it's possible that if there are enough hodlers, we may not see a textbook capitulation event. Or we've already witnessed it.

Well, I do my figuring for taxes from month to month (some 'small' and I mean 'small' mining yet in the bsmt) ...so stalling till

Sept 1st (next months figuring) before I have to sell some altcoins for my fabulous (er boring) retirement lifestyle.

I wonder if not a lot of folk are just not waiting till this 'ugly' month of August 2018 is done and hoping like me for a pump

by Sept 1st to pay bills (it is a dumb theory but it is my theory so that is what I'm doing). I can start a 'new mess' of figures

for capital gains and the rest in September and leave August behind! So using September 1st as my arbitrary must sell

to pay bills date, regardless of price, thus can just blame the BTC fairies/fates for my glory or demise on that choice.

hey, it's an angle

I seriously had to check the calendar to see what month it is right now.

Perhaps it's because I'm on Thailand time which starts a bit sooner than most of the rest of the world but I am showing that September 1st has passed already.

End of September? It looks like over a week left to me.

If BTC will see adoption like XRP or BCH then there will be a chance for another bull run.

Lately, I don't see the adoption of BTC growing only something opposite merchants stop accepting it. High fees (50$) for a single transaction when BTC was at ATH shows that this is not possible for Bitcoin to be a widespread payment solution because of the scaling issue. Ongoing for years debate on the scaling issue brings nothing besides new coin BCH which is now one of the biggest BTC concurrent on the market. I still don't believe that we need an LN on top of BTC and even if then we should let the blocksize grow until LN will be fully implemented/usable.

If Bitcoin resolves all burning problems then and only then will be a chance for another epic bull run. If not we will slowly see like Ripple, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash are taking BTC place on the top of the coinmarketcap list.
