i think the chin's of most longer time hodlers are still up, however the boringness from going sideways this long and maybe longer to much longer who knows, will be testing many hodlers patience especially the guy's bought in later ...
but the ones with the right intentions of hodling BTC will not be bothered to much ,just keeping the longer term picture in mind

Sideways... Up... or Down! I’m going to hold.... and this is very different to 2014 because I was unsure of whether I was doing the right thing then and just deluding myself. Whereas now, it’s just a ho-hum -keep calm and carry on kinda thing with no desire to panic sell regardless of price.

...however, I’ve started playing with my bot again (after almost a year) to relieve the boredom.

Have there been any projects working toward combining lightning and hosting data/bandwidth? Like "pay me 1 satoshi/Mb per day or I drop your data".

Even if it’s encrypted, how do you trust a third party random to reliably host your data?

With enough 'third parties' (AKA storage nodes), and an erasure coding layer, this is a solved problem. How do you think Google, Amazon, et al do it? It is not by guaranteeing unlimited uptime for any individual storage node. It is by making the reliability of each individual storage node irrelevant, by employing intelligent redundancy in a layer above the hardware.

Haven't seen The Mayor in a little while.

Hope he's doing OK.

Saw this on Twitter, and think I'm going to buy it.

Track down The Mayor on Halloween and chase him around his neighborhood whilst wildly swinging two absurdly oversized red dildos.

Poor chap. Chased by a spooky bear toting giant red dildos. He's going to be scared shitless. In his place, I think I would.

I'm also out of here. I mean I can't keep up with you guys. Some of you early retirees have much more time than me apparently.
I take care of my coins daily, while I leave the noise in the background.
I know I am probably missing lots of good info in here but I can't follow this river at the moment.

Seems legit. I'm sure he'd appreciate that someone is thinking about him in these trying times.

$BTC Drops from previous high to the next lower high on the trend have reduced with each lower high since December With a decrease drop % and a decrease in volatility on the weekly chart: the obvious next move would be either macro accumulation (for bulls) or capitulation event

https://twitter.com/Josh_Rager

That's what I have been saying on other forums. We are closer and closer to change the trend. It's far easier now to break the last lower high than it was before. A 1k move upwards would be enough and that plus a short squeeze would push bitcoin a lot.

Pure terror for some but arousal for others. I hope you don't get it wrong or you will be the one doing the running and him the chasing. I still have not decided on halloween. What would be completely terrifying for a hodler?

It may have been posted here already: https://hackernoon.com/state-of-bitcoin-fall-2018-9ccddba55e54

A lot of caveats but the general thesis is that we may still have some bear market months ahead of us.

Also some interesting metrics on potential Bitcoin valuations (no projections).

These idiots don't have a clue that dash had an insta/ninja mine.

I'm sure you'll still find some left willing to pander to your sense of butthurt tribalistic zealotry over ancient historical anecdotes, but I think they just meant that the entire coin supply should be "in circulation" Wink

Do you get notifications whenever dash is mentioned or are you such an anal fanboi you search it each day?

Looks like them folks that this thread loves to hate are having a pissing contest

https://bcfocus.com/news/bitmain-ceo-slams-craig-wright-over-proposed-bitcoin-cash-hard-fork-tells-him-to-f-off/23342/

At least Jihan Wu pretends to be on the right side of the argument.

What good is a BCash hard fork to increase block size when no one is even buying and using that shit? No merchants, no investors, nothing.

Sure it'll allow CSW et. al. to centralize and control a BCash clone, but he'll end up the King of a complete wasteland kingdom. Another dead zombie coin with no future. So what's the fkn point?

So MANY AMATUERS in crypto. Jihan despite building a billion dollar company is an amateur. You do not get political when you sell shovels. You just shut up and sell shovels. Idiot.

He used his own shovels to dig their own graves instead of continuing to use them to bail the boat. Lol

As for volatility, I am pretty much waiting for the next bear trap to buy in again. Now is the most uncertain time for a new wave of newbie buyers and people are going to exploit that.

How the psychology of fear keeps people from buying the bottom..

I think this is a very certain time in the market. I think the price was more likely to go down at any time during the pump than now, after it is already down..
New ATHs are what scare me.. all time highs

But when people see ATHs they feel brave and greed?

Is this why the whales get so rich off of dumb money?

We've been bouncing around here for months, its a great bottom and I'd rather bet on that then having to FOMO buy @7k.

If smart money is smart, they may be looking ferociously to the record pile up of BTC shorts, just waiting to be short covered by whales teasing the price upwards and upwards. If that cow can still be milked, why wouldn't they?

Because maybe they are expecting the pile of shorts to be even higher before rekting them for good? Smiley

One serious bloodbath on the way, it will probally be manipulated with a CBOE manipulation.

You know that the bears have no control when they attack for 10th time 6k support and nobody here gives a shit. The spent Bitcoins on Bitfinex is only5K, compared to 40K in the previous 7k to 6500 drop. Haha, bears, you are fucked! BTC for ever!
