I surely would not put $120k at more than 40% odds for this calendar year, even though on December 6, I had assigned 44.5% odds of such number having had been reached by this calendar year or by no later than 1st quarter 2023.  Perhaps bitcoinPsycho has assigned higher odds than me?  perhaps greater than 50/50?  I might consider anyone assigning greater than 75% odds to something like that to be a bit looney.. yet sometimes it is a matter of degree (or probability assignments) rather than disagreeing on likely direction.. but just how likely remains another aspect to consider.. how far and how likely.

I agree with your probability of 40% (or 45?) that Bitcoin reaches $120k+ in 2022.  That sounds good.  fairly bullish in my opinion.  As there are lots of scenarios in the other 60% (35?) where Bitcoin makes it to somewhere north of 80.

But I will add a prediction of my own.

*IF* we make it to 120k...  a quarter mill within 6 months from that would be a 75% chance.

My basic reasoning is if we can make it that far past 100k, then I would think something between worldwide FOMO and a parabolic blow off are in the cards.  And I would favor the former with the difference being a less violent correction after it.  I think we stay volatile, but less so than in past years.  Another way to say it is I see 120k+ to be a 25% chance of being the TOP in your 40% chance scenario.

This new:

Gold industry taps blockchain for supply chain management and fraud prevention

It has made me think, that many who are gold lovers have the opportunity to use Blockchain technology for 'Poder having control of their ingots:

Quote
London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and the World Gold Council (WGC) announced Monday that they are collaborating to develop an “international system of gold bar integrity, chain of custody and provenance” that’s based on blockchain technology developed by companies aXedras and Peer Ledger. The ledger will be used to register and track gold bars at each stage of the production and distribution cycle, including mining, vaulting and purchase by jewelry manufacturers.

... sounds like a great idea, right after they audit Fort Knox gold and Federal Reserve gold holdings as they transfer the public's gold into a transparent publically-verifiable blockchain database /sarc

By the way, one of the difficulties of having that long-term spouse relationship may be some of the possible "being discrete" issues because the wife might not completely mind if some of the side play starts to happen, but she may well not want to know details or to have anyone who she knows to know such details either.. in order that she can maintain face.

... without wanting to pry too much and respecting one another's Op-Sec on these delicate matters .... how young is she JJG?

... just curious  Cheesy Cheesy

Little bit of upside noise, but the main prediction remains perfectly intact as we remain within the predicted bear channel. Bitcoin will never reach $100k.

Ohh shit!... I was just thinking, when were you going to post! and bam! there you are!

BUY signal guys!.. best TA you ever need!

proudhon post = BULLISH!

YES!!!! This brings back so many great memories.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7TuFy0fcuw

Never forget..

Damnit... if I had the raw tracks of this I could produce an awesome remix...  The vocals are fairly weak, but the BIGGEST bad part is the pitch. I could fix that in 20 minutes... Natural, perfect. Beautiful.  The delivery is so so, but I could notch that up a little too... Oh and the timing on some of the phrasings could use some love... and that's more subtle and would take a little more time.  Add some real drums... rework the meh reverb etc...

Just dreaming a little.

If bitcoin gets into million(s) and most of WO regulars are still around, i think the best bang for the money would be to seek life extension procedures.
This (more healthy time) is major, everything else could be secondary.

I am not privy to all current efforts, but there are many "serious" people involved.
Big money is being spent on the best and brightest toward these goals (attacking the longevity problem from the multiple angles).
I am not sure if there is some kind of hard barrier that we cannot break through, but if it is a purely biological/engineering problem, then I don't think that you can call it insurmountable.
Mind you, Musk is firmly against life extension because he believes that it would cause less societal progress.

I don't have links handy, but there was a lot of recruitment in life-extension area by at least a couple of companies and/or foundations.
The main problem would probably be tissue re-vitalization without carcinogenicity.
Apart from helping the loved ones, personally, I see no goal more interesting than this.
It is entirely possible that initial treatments would be VERY expensive and hush-hush as you cannot dangle longevity in front of "regular" people, but then say that it is not affordable, unless you have a multitude of $ seven or even eight digit accounts. All kinds of problems may ensue. Will the society then split into "ancients" and "normals"? Very well may be.

Extension already exists. But it is costly and not very moral.

your filters wear out.

Ie kidneys are in the 70% range for a very healthy 65 year old.

Dialysis  extends your system quite well. Fairly cheap.

So what do our mad scientists do. Splice your dna into a pigs kidneys and create perfect transplant organs.

Not too nice for the pig but better than someone grabbing people of the street and tossing him into a meat grinder once you grabbed the good organs.

So a rich guy could replace kidneys at 20 40 60 and so on.

Would work well if you have the coins to pay. You can donate the bacon 🥓 leftover to the poor.

After long time CB has made hatrick post and that also within $47k range with leaving behind his NFT avatar and now choosing to smash the bears the hell out with that price surge charts Grin

Are we going to enjoy $50k weekend this time? If so i am ordering two pizzas to embark the half century for bitcoin to celebrate it.

So now the official candidate running for Canada's PM elections is issuing this statement:

This statement might turn most of bitcoiners in his favour after the recent policy of Justin Trudeau on freezing the freedom convoy truckers btc transactions, bank accounts and the latest one coinbase privacy policy to disclose the receipt details if the amount is more than $1000 CAD.So this can prove some really bad points for them as the other party is having friendly behaviour to btc.

But can't really beleive on them as after coming into power they all make their own decisions without caring for people but will see the results and bitcoin remains unstoppable.

Looks more like the rival party is pro Bitcoin than the ruling one. It can also be a away to lure crypto voters for the next election. I do not think 50k will be achievable by the end of weekend. He also bought lunch using Bitcoin.

You really are a tourist in reality.

Aren’t we all?
Better get your history straight Arrie. Very little is what it seems - and we are all victims.

Zelenskyy moves to Miami permanently and enjoys billionaire lifestyle, never to be heard of again

This.

I had dinner several times with a rich Ukrainian guy and his wife back in 2014 and 2015.
At the time I didn’t think much of our conversations - which were very difficult, and assisted by his wife - because he did not speak English very well.
Key points I remember:
- Business is good, I have a medical equipment factory, and we are at war.
- Tesla blah blah, powerwall blah blah.
- 3 months holiday around the world (1 in Greece), 3 months in Miami, 6 months in Ukraine.
- Very proud that his child was born in the US, and would take up US citizenship.

I quickly realised that we should not talk politics, because I did not understand what he was on about.
He totally contradicted what I was also hearing at the time - from another Ukrainian lady from the Donbass region, but still didn’t know what to make of it.

Haven’t heard from him since.
One thing I regret though, is that I didn’t take up his offer to visit Kyiv in the winter.

The whole Great Reset is a way to crash the existing system but leave the same colonialists in power legally.

When you understand that dynamic now you can understand why Russia, in particular, is the vanguard of the Global South’s desire to change the System of the World.
It is also the one country that has the commodity production power to expose the vulnerabilities of this System.

FYI, this same scenario is going to play out in Bitcoin now that Russia has said ‘friendly countries’ can pay for imports with Bitcoin.  Has anyone noticed the current rally in the World’s Most Hated Cryptocurrency?

We now have a full gold/bitcoin/ruble (and soon Yuan) interconversion system that completely and utterly cuts out Davos and destroys their colonial debt model while also taking away their power to crash economies through hot money in and out flows.

Because the next step in all of this is for Russia to close their capital account and nationalizing the Bank of Russia making the only source of international rubles be the Russian government.

Internally, the ruble will be de facto backed by gold and can circulate freely.

Bitcoin And Crypto Now Braced For A $10 Trillion Earthquake As Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Solana And Cardano Soar

The bitcoin price jumped to over $45,000 per bitcoin after a senior Russian official said the country would accept bitcoin as payment for its energy exports. Meanwhile, the ethereum price has continued to climb as "enthusiasm" builds ahead of a long-awaited upgrade.

Now, Larry Fink, the chief executive of BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with around $10 trillion in assets under management, has said his company is "studying" digital currencies due to climbing client demand.

"As we see increasing interest from our clients, BlackRock is studying digital currencies, stablecoins and the underlying technologies to understand how they can help us serve our clients," Fink wrote this week in a letter to BlackRock shareholders.

Fink has previously dismissed bitcoin and crypto, saying in a CNBC interview last year that he doesn't see much demand for crypto. In February, Coindesk reported BlackRock was gearing up to follow other Wall Street giants including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citi, into crypto services, and is planning to let clients borrow from BlackRock by pledging crypto assets as collateral.

This week, Goldman became the first major U.S. bank to trade crypto over the counter, working with crypto merchant bank Galaxy Digital to offer a bitcoin-linked instrument called a non-deliverable option.
