It looks to me that we need more and easier solutions for getting BTC quietly and off-the-grid.  This is one of the various things I want to be thinking about in the coming weeks.

Just don’t forget that they are losing money[?] in the process. It’s a very thin line between miners shutting down, difficulty re-adjusting, and mining again with a smaller difficulty.

fwiw I read somewhere that miners shutting down to support the grid get financially compensated for that...
