Imo, a small group of people here do help, though.
That's what kept me here, actually.
But for me, learning to deal with toxicity in a constructive way was THE secondary most beneficial experience around here.
Not engaging with trolls is a simple way to keep focused at the funny side of WO, but it got way more grumpy and stupid here in the last few years, while highly valued contributors left the ship. This is a shitty but steady development.

There's always been trolls here. Sooner or later they leave the ship too. Any old timers here will remember NotLambchop, r0ach, and falllling. They were worse than today's trolls, but haven't posted in years.

Perhaps you are too nice... yet it has frequently been part of my systems of belief to attempt to accept various aspects of myself, my personality and my characteristics for what they are, and to attempt to make changes incrementally rather than dramatically, and sure, if I were to believe that some BIGGER kinds of changes were to be needed and they can be implemented in sustainable ways, then all the more power in terms of carrying out those kinds of change attempts. 

As we get older, we surely are going to have some difficulties making changes that are very different from what we know, and likely we are not really broken, so probably tweaks are going to be better than BIG changes, yet in the end, it is up to each of us regarding how to proceed forward within our views of our own judgement and discretion.  I hope these change attempts work out for you and towards benefiting you.

I doubt that matters have gone down hill in the wall observer thread in the past few years.  There may well be a need to work on your perceptions... but hey, you are free to believe what you like and to conclude what you like.

In other words, there have always been contributors of good and bad contents.  Should theymos stop this thread because it is not sufficiently valuable anymore?
