Btc-e dipped to $228 for a while. Didn't want to see the the 220s again.
@Damiano we need more than that to get a proper squeeze. And I don't believe in a squeeze before the sr-coin auction anyway. However, if the bottom is as firm as it looks, we could have a helluva a spring waiting for after the auction.

If you want to know the cause of recent dumping, Bitcoin's premiere securities exchange, Havelock, went dark yesterday https://www.havelockinvestments.comlol just kidding, disregard. Everyone knows that Bitcoin securities are 95% fraud & 5% incompetence, fail & AIDS. Bitcoin's about gambling, not business & IRL. I believe Mr. Warren Buffett has put it best by saying "It's a mirage."

We would need probably 25k minimum, but I'm more worried on the ask side if a squeeze were to occur.

This time the coins are valued far lower, and are therefore much easier to purchase. Also the auction had no direct effect on the price the previous two times and so why expect anything spectacular this time?

Lulz from the Bitfinex thread: I have negative balance without any margin trading. Has anyone seen something like this?
Edit: Yeah, have seen this on MtGox before and dozens of others alt-coins exchanges before they collapsed.

If we have changed to an up trend and the auction keeps the price artificially low while swaps are building up, then that might bring about something spectacular. The last two times we were obviously in a bear market. But we still haven't broken the nov/dec 2014 pattern properly so I'm not sure if anything will be different. We've had 1 month of green 1d macds today though. Makes the bottom feel firm and nice.

Edit: Yeah, have seen this on MtGox before and dozens of others alt-coins exchanges before they collapsed. Last time I heard about "negative balances" was in december 2013 when users from CRAPtsy (the unreliable shitcoin exchange) were able to withdraw more coins they had (basically stealing from other user's balances without knowing it),

Fair point..shorts building nicely. Not long until they caught off guard by 20,000 coins unexpectedly bought in a few hours again lol.

Bitcoinbuilder goxbtc gettin ready to sell. A 90% haircut still seems almost fair. Builder's Back Get .11 BTC per GOXBTC. Heya! I know it's been a long time since you've heard anything from Bitcoin Builder, but I promise... a lot has been going on behind the scenes! We've re-launched as a "Bitcoin Exchange Aggregator" that pulls in the best prices from multiple exchanges and allows you to trade without fee. But more importantly, from now through February 24th, 2015, we are offering the option to sell the GOXBTC you have "locked" in Mt. Gox to us at the rate of .11 BTC per GOXBTC. Just based on public information, we of course expect the value of a GOXBTC to be higher than this when the claims process is complete. We also expect distributions perhaps by September or even earlier. However, if you would like to get some liquidity now and remove some potential risk, simply visit https://bitcoinbuilder.com/sellgox to take us up on our offer. You will be able to trade or withdraw your BTC immediately after being verified and agreeing to the Assignment of Claim. If you'd rather not sell, do nothing, and whenever any Mt. Gox bankruptcy funds are distributed to Bitcoin Builder, your account will automatically be credited with whatever your portion turned out to be worth at that time. To check it all out, just visit Bitcoin Builder: https://bitcoinbuilder.comThanks, Josh Jones Founder, Bitcoin Builder, Inc.
