Just a feeling Fakhoury.
Since the downtrend was broken the market is behaving differently. We are basing here and each successive repulsion of 270 means another retest of 300 is more likely. We are still in a bullish upmove and a breakout from this latest triangle - if up - should definitively break 300. Whilst we remain in the triangle all moves are noise.
Furthermore, there is no build up of speculative shorting, despite extremely low borrowing rates for btc to be lent out and sold into the open market. The reason for this is that market participants do not want to risk leveraged selling into this market because no one believes the price will crash and those that did were wiped out with repeated price surges from 219 to 316. Also, even though the orderbook is a mirage of true supply and demand, it is supporting the price and is superficially incredibly bullish.
Remember the halving isn't far away. Ignore the trolls and keep your position.
Thank you Inca, Gyrsur and rememberme for elaboration. Don't worry Inca, I don't know if you know yet or not, I'm long-term holder and I will NEVER change my position, I just like to keep motivated and understanding, from you specially Good lad Fakhoury, hold your position as always. Keep quietly accumulating whilst prices are still fairly low. One day we'll look back on these times as basically being given free money Keep learning & keep HODLING (from a guy in a pretty identical position to yourself).

Well yeah there is that....... I don't really want to think about the money I've invested in bitcoin. It's gone now. We all invest for the hope of a better life one day. I'd rather to quote 50 Cent - 'Get Rich Or Die Trying' Seriously though, nobody ever became wealthy by playing it safe. Who wants to stick their savings in a crappy fiat banking system with awfully low interest rates. Even if bitcoin doesn't 'go to the moon' we should be looking to at lesst double our investment as a result of the halving next summer if not the halving 4 years after that. I've already told you I'm in on that

I think we are pretty like minded and we both know doubling our investment is not good enough in the end. Even 10 x would be disappointing. Personally I'd like to buy up property one day with my stash. 10 years? I can wait.

@RJ
Yes we can wait, 10 years is nothing in life. I know from speaking to you privately that you're a young man too. I'm totally relaxed about the situation at the moment. Our ultimate goal is mainstream adoption, obviously if that does occur then the big prices will follow naturally.
We're still in accumulation phase. Every single satoshi counts at the moment. Stay calm & patient, we're in this for the long haul.

The HODLERS club is amazing, although it's full of pain and blood, but in the end, the sun WILL shine.

I agree. Banking system don't provide security for life economies (bail-in LAW in december 2013 in Eurozone). Blockchain powered by 6000 nodes and over 100 000 miners ... is more trustly.

You sound like you have no real idea how this is going to happen - just a blind gamble that the rest of the world will somehow pick you to be the new elite. How many wealthy people do you know who got wealthy simply by buying... money?

I don't think it will happen any time soon either. Just look at the trouble they're having with obviously needed changes, like block size. No, Bitcoin will likely remain unchanged (and in beta) for the rest of its life It will happen if bitcoin fails to be a plausible currency due to its inherent 'deflation by design configuration'. If people cant buy bitcoins because they are all owned by folk who want to hoard them, then they will go elsewhere. Already started...

Sounds like farming to me. Kind of odd that he would neg rep you though. The Powers That Be seems to be ok with that kind of activity, so I don't see why that guy goes vigilante on you. If you really want to make money on crypto though, and you don't have a lot of money to invest, you could just set yourself as a crypto-currency consultant. Chances are that you know more about crypto than your local bank or most in the tech or investment community where you live.
Some people just can't mind their own business and decide to screw people over in order to further their goal (I kind of needed a loan and offered my main account and a pair of jr member accounts). Some people have no tolerance for things they disagree with. And some people are assholes. I don't know what category that default trust member fits in. Whatever, I enjoy being part of this community, and if I can help some noob get an avatar and a cool account name, I will. At a small discount. The problem is that there is no bitcoin market here, in Guatemala. It's not even in people's radar. Most of my friends didn't hear about it until I told them about it, and almost all of them study to be computer engineers. I think change will always be sudden in some parts of Latin America, when it comes to bitcoin and other technologies. My parents tell me that in the 1980s, there used to be only one house phone in the neighborhood. Imagine telling those same people that investing in a company that will be great at mobile phones is a good idea. "There's this guy that told me it was the future of communication!" there already existed a mobile hand held phone by 1977. I can see that for them (the people I've mentioned bitcoin to), bitcoin is a curiousity, an odd thing that the Internet came up with. "It sounds useful" a friend told me. Oh, but it's so much more. So. Much. More. PS: anyone know how to make a wallet.dat dump all the private keys that contain bitcoin? I need to sweep them and send them to a bitcoin wallet that doesnt need to download the entire blockchain because I need to buy a computer charger ASAP. Never mind. I'm getting most of my BTC out right now.
