You're bringing ethics into this now? "Go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me" ring a bell?
This is why you can't argue logic with religious people. Sure, give me all your money now and you get pie in the sky when you die. There's always a point at which faith trumps reason. Maybe that's true, but I don't want to get hung on a cross or eaten by lions. The treasures I have are my family right here on earth and if I can provide for them, then that's my reward. well u dont have to give money to the preachers because if your in good with Josephe Smith then you are in good with god and jesus. only problem is Joseph Smith doesnt accept bitcoins yet cuz he doesnt know what they are... if you do try to give joseph smit bitcoins to get in good with him then tell us how that worked out. if we all know we can slip into heaven by giving Joseph Smith a bitcoin that would be great!

... Human morality is a production of natural selection. Behaving ethically is an evolutionarily stable strategy. Our religious fables are just fantastic narratives trying to explain or justify it.
>Behaving ethically is an evolutionarily stable strategy. This immediately kicks ethics down into the realm of 'life-affirming.' Stuff like "fair" and "unfair" no longer applies. No more value judgement beyond equally arbitrary " instrumental to survival of the human race." What's so important about the human race? Why celebrate this biological need to survive and multiply, like mold in a Petri dish? And what's to say that the serial raper-killer is not essential to the beautiful tapestry of life? Thinning the heard? Every soul is useful. Morals are also in constant flux. In conclusion, Libya is a land of contrasts. Thank you. What does the price of Bitcoin have to do with Libya? I'd ask that you stay on topic.

It's an interesting point. Sociopathy in small numbers also seems to work. https://www.quora.com/Could-sociopathy-be-considered-an-evolutionary-advantage

The people who consume the shit you produce are necessary to this thing called economy. If no one bought your widgets, you'd be a proud owner of a million widgets & nothing but.
That's merely the abstract aggregate collection of people we call 'consumers' telling you that they don't want your damned widgets. That's a producer fail, pure and simple. Incidentally, this thing we call 'economy' is nothing more than the abstract aggregate rollup of countless individual consumers and countless individual producers involved in countless individual transactions. If individual consumers don't value highly enough the goods that the producers are producing in order to engage in trade, so what? You speak as if it is a problem that requires solving by manipulation of monetary characteristics. It is not. If people don't want the crap that's being made, it is self-evident that their needs are being met. If people's needs are being met, there is no problem.

In times of uncertainty there's a lower tendency to spend, hence less sales, less jobs, less household income, more uncertainty - repeat.
