I noticed that Hobi's price is gravitating near $666, last time I checked price was $666.66...
Is it a sign?

I don't think the $666 number will hold as much as in the past due to this being lead so much by the Chinese. It might struggle to hold there briefly but after that, sky's the limit.
What's so special about it reaching $666? Apart from it being the number of satan, is there any other significance in this?

I have voted for >700 at the poll. I expect the price at June 30 in the mid-to-high 700s. It may reach 800, but I'm not sure about that. Short term I expect a very small correction now. Prices may go to $620 as a minimum, but I don't expect much less than that. I don't think we'll see sub-600 prices the next week. Bitcoin has been undervalued for a while now. True market cap should be at least 100 billion.
Although I'm getting slightly bearish now, it's only for the short term. I expect the mid-term cryptocurrency market at that 100 billion you are predicting. That would be the consequence if cryptos can conquer a significant market share of the remittance market. But I expect this not to happen before 2018-20. And I also expect Bitcoin not to be the only big player then. In my opinion Bitcoin can reach 30-50 billion market cap as a maximum, and the rest will be for about 5 other cryptocurrencies (which they are, I don't know; I guess Ripple, Ethereum and Bitshares will be among them).

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4ni8tf/apparently_underbanking_here_in_brazil_created_a/In modern-day Brazil, a huge part of the population still has no access to mainstream banking. Most of the population still has no access to credit cards for instance, which led to the creation of a special payment system around here. It's called the boleto bancário (or boleto for short) and it may be slowly and silently becoming a threat to monopolist banks very soon.
I don't know if you have a similar system where you live but I've never heard of something like this in the US so here we go. Here is how those work, basically: people buy stuff (mostly on the internet) and print a one-page document with a unique barcode. They can subsequently take the document or the code to a bank, an ATM, a lotérica (or one of the thousands of places here who accept such payments around here) and pay there with live cash. The payment is processed in 1-3 days and whatever you buy is sent like usual. If you don't pay, your order is just cancelled. You don't owe anyone anything in that case since nothing is being sent. No big deal.
The thing behind that system you're not actually paying the bank or the store directly - you are paying a independent correspondent (a frequently privately owned lotérica for instance) and as such those are free to take any payment method. And apparently you can now pay for those. Over the internet. With BTC.
Now let's put this into perspective. AliExpress, PayPal, MercadoPago (our "local PayPal"), PagSeguro (our second "local PayPal") and all major outlets take boleto today, because they wouldn't sell nearly as much if they didn't. (Mostly because people wouldn't be able to pay.)
So I just found out someone here created a service that allows you to type your barcode in and pay any boleto using Bitcoin. Directly over the internet.
Now, this is something much bigger than purse.io or whatever system you already have in the USA. I have never tried that website and therefore cannot endorse it or recommend it by any means but hell if it is legit this is really big mostly because there are no strangers (apart from the website which processes the payment of course) involved. You are basically selling Bitcoin for anything you want - even balance on Neteller for instance (yes, you can put money into your card using boleto here).
As of now, BTC is mostly unknown here and basically no one knows about that website. But no one knows what's coming next. Underserved markets. https://coin.dance/volume/localbitcoins/BRL

i voted <700, but 800 seems like an attainable target at this point... i think 800 would prove to have some formidable resistance tho... but resistance is futile in the long term. Short term I expect a very small correction now. Prices may go to $620 as a minimum, but I don't expect much less than that. I don't think we'll see sub-600 prices the next week.

i think inevitably bitcoin is targeting a trillion dollar market cap. and... its likly bitcoin will hit a 100billion market cap before it hits 1/2 a trillion

market will do the smart thing and run to 800 asap. shorting in the 600's is like trying to catch a bag of fiat in flames and putting out the flames asap to save as much diary fiat as you can, not worth it, just hodl that shinny bitcoin.

What's so special about it reaching $666? Apart from it being the number of satan, is there any other significance in this? Price stabilised there on the way up and down due to a small minority using it to make a point or for giggles. Other traders used that to their advantage one way or the other. Volume will be too high for a small amount of people to be able to hold it very long unless the psychological significance is used by traders.

Yeah. Looks like Hobular's got $700 in its sights now. 5 minute chart correction complete without a major dump. 15-minute on the backside of its curve. 1-hour chart's not even blinked yet.

Wrong. Bitcoin's value is 0.13% of gold's value. The value of 1 bitcoin is equal to half of this of 1 ounce of gold, now, that's true, but a comparison based on random units not linked with each other like that is just wrong. You're using the same logic as this of the people who say that bitcoin is "expensive" because $600 is a lot of money. That's not how you do it. If the total amount of bitcoins to be created was 2.1 million instead of 21 million, each one of them would now be worth $6460. Would you then say that bitcoin's value is 6 times higher than gold's ? Look at the market caps. That's what will really tell you how much bitcoin is worth compared to gold, and it's 0.13%. Bitcoin still has a looooooong way to go before it's worth half as much as gold is. And frankly I like that: it means that there's still profit to be made investing in bitcoin.

i think with gold the best you can really hope for is that it HODL its value over time. its better to be hold gold vs fiat during the fiat to crypto transition, also i think silver will out preform gold but again a silver "investment" will yield ~2-5% a year on avg.
