Mark T. Williams Mark T. Williams teaches finance, risk management and capital markets at Boston University School of Management and is a former Federal Reserve Bank examiner.Stolfi has a wikipedia article only for himself. It seems very accurate: Bitcoin activities In late 2013 Jorge took an active interest in the emerging market of Bitcoin trading, and invested a substantial portion of his personal wealth in the cryptocurrency. He is assumed to be among the 500 largest holders of Bitcoins in the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorge_StolfiThat's why I love Wikipedia. They might not be accurate, but sometimes they are funny as hell. By the way, how can we know if he's telling the truth when he says that he has no Bitcoin? I don't think Jorge stolfi owns bitcoins and I'm sure he is honest when he says, signature: Academic interest in bitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, very skeptical of its longterm success. Why should he tell a lie?

ugh... still not enough of trollfi? how about this theory: nlc is one of trollfi's alter egos and izablabla kaminzky is his daughter and helps him trolling the btc community?! Edit: i forgot to add my explanation why he does this.. satoshi gave him alot of btc in 2009 for promotion reasons, he then sold them all when the price hit 10$ the first time. 10k bucks profit and he was glad that he got out before the 'bubble' burst. after seeing the price hit 250$ he thought "damn, maybe i was wrong after all. i will just buy back in with all my money". There was another dump to two digits and he sold at the bottom with a horrible loss of more than 50%. Ever since then he was butthurt and started trolling. His daughter seeing her inheritance had more than halfed also joined in the never ending trollvendetta... i am sorry for exposing the truth or maybe i am just kidding. who knows?

By the way, how can we know if he's telling the truth when he says that he has no Bitcoin?
We don't. He might might be holding a boatload of bitcoin, but wants to go broke by convincing people that it's worthless.

We don't. He might might be holding a boatload of bitcoin, but wants to go broke by convincing people that it's worthless. Dialectic thinking. If he is wrong and BTC goes to the moon, he will be rich. If he is right and BTC fails, he will lose, but at least he can brag to others he was right all the time. He will "win", one way or another

We don't. He might might be holding a boatload of bitcoin, but wants to go broke by convincing people that it's worthless. Dialectic thinking. You mean Hegelian dialectic? How so? If he is wrong and BTC goes to the moon, he will be rich. If he is right and BTC fails, he will lose, but at least he can brag to others he was right all the time.
He will "win", one way or another
I see. Just one of the reasons we bitcoiners are renowned for our lucid, incisive reasoning.

[for the newbies]
Isabella Kaminska, our beloved, multifaceted, low activity troll
Isabella Kaminska may be a bit of a luddite missing some of the technical aspects of bitcoin that could revise her argument but she appears genuine and honest unlike jstolfi who intentionally or unintentionally will make dishonest and misleading statements to further his objective. If only more trolls/buttcoiners were like her we would be much better off.

Have you listened to her interview on BTCuncensored? She's a seriously reasonable academic. Her basic premise is she considers Bitcoin a luxury good. I think she's right. Listen to it^ and tell me she's wrong.

Listen to it^ and tell me she's wrong. There is a lot of things she gets right, but many things she misunderstands as well. Her suggestion that bearer instruments drain wealth from society partly due to the cost to secure them is incorrect. She also is confused politically about bitcoins role in regulatory arbitrage and she seems to be very misguided into believing Anarchists are opposed to rules/regulations. I suppose it depends upon how you define "luxury good". Some of those luxuries she speaks of are a matter of survival for people, so her characterization isn't accurate there either. I get a strong sense she is honestly attempting to seek truth and be genuine in her research though , so I would suggest she is in the group of one of the more respected critics.

Military coup in turkey. Bitcoin up?
Discuss....
*Edit21:- US Vice President John Kerry said: Recep Tayyip Erdogan is himself to blame for this situation that someone tried a coup on him. (LOL ... this sh!t ain't over yet!) *Edit22:- The death count from the attempted coup is nearing ~300 dead. ("Who cares..? They are just muslims!") *Edit23:- Somewhere around ~2900 judges have been arrested. - And ~2900 military soldiers and personnel have been also arrested. - Some of the military are still fighting, and hours after the president announced that the coup failed. An F-16 bombed a military facility and the home of the president. (he was not at home) Also footage of one of the bombings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ueh8cY3i9U4
