On Twitte, @Bitstamp says 'up in most regions soon..' Not for me! I can see some thin trading going on, but still can't log in (UK) I guess that will be them partying with all the new money raised. Might want to spend it on better DNS provision, guys

So I just got an email from Stamp (which I don't even have an account set up) saying that they are going to start XRP trading.
Yes XRP, the biggest pre-mined scam coin of all! What a complete joke, man. Stamp has even known about what a scam XRP is for years now, so this about-face shows their true colors.
These brokers and exchanges must really be getting desperate for more trading revenue. Wouldn't be shocked to see some of the major ones go out of business within the next few years, because they're all based on VC-funded future revenue projections that don't align with reality. They will literally run out of investment money before they make a yearly profit.

Hate VC's from the bottom of my heart. And not because I asked a few for some millions for some tech start-up... But they are cruel cold blooded lizards of society that suck the life out of existence! They are true anti-progress impediments! Leeches of society! I would not want them to get involved in BTCiTcoin. They should all crawl back in to their holes from where they came from and then rot in their fiat illusion.

i think bitstamp allowed ripple as funding/withdrawal method even before 2013. i understand your anger but lots of the exchanges deal with several altcoins. as long as they don´t do onecoin, i´m ok with that.

once we have the COIN ETF, I know a substantial portion of my 401k will funnel to it.
This makes sense. The investment horizon is long and bitcoin's price should be a lot more expensive than now or zero Everyone who has 401k should allocate like 0.1% to COIN ETF Damned thing hasn't even been approved yet. Fingers crossed, but it isnt a certainty by any means.

Yeah.. who knows how many folks are affected, and if it is a kind of revolving issue concerning locations? They said that they had it fixed, but then a few minutes ago they tweeted that they need a "couple more hours" to resolve the issue. https://twitter.com/Bitstamp?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5EauthorSo that could affect some folks in their ability to trade.. I did not notice any issue earlier, but then about the past half hour or so, I have not been able to connect to bitstamp.

Next 24 hrs are critical my triangle says it will tighten towards $910 for Jan 13. itll spend the remainder of the week with people making positions, and then itll pump or dump on the weekend A pump will be possible tomorrow morning, but I'm not happy about the amplitudes seen so far. I will wake up very early anyway to try to catch it.

I don't want to see another buy-then-sell panic tomorrow >< Let the price be a bit stable for some time!

I think that exchanges adding diversity to their options is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it can give legitimacy to bitcoin as part of an investment group, a digital currency type and the like. On the other, Altcoins that are not as solid as bitcoin could drag down bitcoin's reputation in case of something going wrong. I think dogecoin did that to some extent, what went wrong is that it is completely useless. That digital currency was a joke that got some people in the door, but turned others away from the ecosystem... Like if you wanted to open an account in a bank and found a birthday party for a 6-year-old, clowns and all. All in all, it's a mixed bag. And I think it signals progress, but not without risk. I think bitcoin is still in its infancy, which is why people mock bitcoin.
