If BCH doesn't crash and burn on a technical level, which it very well might, then I think that there will be three stages:
1. For the next 2-4 days, people will have BCH and be trading it inside of exchanges, but will not be able to readily deposit or withdraw it because BCH blocks will be mined very slowly. This will cause a very inflated price on at least some exchanges. 2. Over the course of a few weeks after that, it will be driven absolutely into the ground as people dump their free BCH. 3. Then it will recover somewhat and hover between 0.001 to 0.01 BTC as a maybe slightly-above-average altcoin. Depending on how committed its supporters are, it could continue indefinitely similar to Litecoin or peter out after some time.

1. People have bought BTC like mad because they want free BCC 2. Smart investors already selling their BTC 3. When the fork hits, and BTC's market cap will be split between two coins (80-20?) BTC will drop like a stone.
All this even though we know BCC doesn't stand a chance. Good for trading tho
in an hour and 50 mins we will know. I dont expect it to drop like a stone. Many people might just exchange BCH for BTC instead of fiat. People who already sold their BTC will re-enter on a dip. I expect a new ATH before the end of this week. I do expect a rally around 4 Aug. By that time, all the FUD should have vanished. Maybe we will have some dip right after the BCC launch... or maybe don't, not sure. It depends on so many factors and actors...

Lots of unbiased investment advices which do not need any disclaimers because of this...

25 minutes.
Wondering if this is gonna be the biggest non-event or the craziest volatility ever. No idea.
Everybody set up your limit orders already as if there is big volatility you will probably not be able to trade real-time.

I'm actually going to only sell .5 BCH once it's out and sell the rest in case Jihan and Co. pump it late. Who knows what's going to happen, unfortunately for me my clock was set one hour ahead so I woke up too early It will be an interesting event for sure.

We will find out soon. Im only dumping the BCH straight away though and buy more BTC. I should have moved more BTC to kraken to dump right away.... Most of my BTC is on my ledger and I don't plan to touch it before I see people posting "success" stories. Anyway it will probably be late by the time those BCC arrive at the exchange... maybe after the first or second dead cat bounce. Maybe I should have opened some margin long positions to get more BCH to dump, but I decided I would have settled my margin position before 1 Aug, and I did. I am always scared of liquidations by extreme volatility. I am playing safe even if that means reduced profit.

I chose waiting tactics. Im reluctant to believe there will be fast free money drop on every bitcoin holder. It just can't work like that. people who bought bitcoin in recent days just to get BTH/BCC are likely to lose or will have to wait for some time. Im curious what will actually happen

The order book is that thin, that they could market making as they want. Wait for proper trading and the politcal dumps and pums are 'over' .

Most of my BTC is on my ledger and I don't plan to touch before I see people posting "sucess" stories. Anyway it will probably be late by the time those BCC arrive at the exchange... maybe after the first or second dead cat bounce. I am in the same boat with my BTC on my ledger nano S. TBH I feel safer this way than entrusting it to an exchange, even one as established as Kraken. I am sure that I will not be able to take advantage of any immediate market moves but who knows how this is going to pan out in the long run.

Is there any alternative to https://www.btcforkmonitor.info/ that shows whether a chain split has actually happened? The site has been down for a while now...
