If you feel too bad during dumps it's a sign that you're overinvested. Try to stay more diversified

From a certain point of view...

I didn't choose to become over invested in Bitcoin. Bitcoin decided to become over invested in me.

Put another way, my Bitcoin hoard became worth more than my fiat hoard and investments.

All on it's own. All I did was stay principled and HODLd.

You can always spare some if you would like to share the burden  Grin

BTC soaring and will achieve new heights, UAE is now to alert investors on ICOs so all money that was earlier going to ETH will now be routed to BTC.
Hope it breaks a new record this time.

"When the establishment is constantly pointing to Bitcoin and labeling it as a bubble, but refuses to point at other things they promote and label them as bubbles (e.g., bonds, equities, real estate, car loans, student loans, entitlements, fiat), then you know that Bitcoin is not in a bubble but instead is growing exponentially for all the right reasons."

Addicted to HoDLing!

@{JayJuanGee, khufuking, Searing}:

I agree with your thinking, I understand that simply HoDLing will not take any advantage of the volatility, and I know I should try trading, even on a very small percentage of my stash (or some freshly-bought coins, as suggested). I could have increased my holdings by several BTC if I had sold at 4100 EUR/coin and bought back at 2500 EUR/coin. Well, it's easy to think about this after the fact, but not so easy to predict it.

Having said that, and as per your suggestion, I do intend to buy some more BTC, for the sole purpose of trading. Not much, perhaps 1 or 2 BTC. The rest is already in cold storage and I don't intend to touch them unless absolutely necessary. It's nice (very nice) when you earn from trading, but it can bite you hard if you are not careful.

BTW, just for the record, and contrary to one of my earlier posts in this thread, I've decided to sell my entire BCH holdings, and convert them to BTC (mostly) and LTC (as a hedge). Took advantage of the recent big dip, so one could say that I "traded" them, which turned out quite good I must say. Not sure if that was a good or a bad move in the long term though... Only time will tell...

The combined forces of Roger Ver, John Mcafee and Jihan Wu are far, far greater than anything the propagandized, Brainwashed sycophants over at BlockstreamCore can possibly summon. Bring on the hate, go on, keep trying to convince us why Bitcoin's adoption and growth rate should be strangled for Eternity at 1mb because "muh hard forks are dangerous" or whatever ridiculous Lie you people keep regurgitating.

OK I'll try again. I see I didn't search back carefully enough to see that Oct 2, 2017 was already taken when I posted this morning.

For the same reasons, I'll have to take Oct 1,2017 even though it's a Sunday. If it's already gone, I guess I'll have to take Oct 6, 2017 which is the nearest available date following.
____

As a suggestion, if you ever do this again, make a separate thread so it would be easier to see which dates are taken without having to wade through the entire wall observer thread with its walls of text, antisemitic gold buggery and pointless debates.

Youre in So 6/10 iT was right .... ? And next time i would do ...
kindly put me down for 16/11/17 please, thanks goossens

can you please put me down for 27/10/17? thank you

I am in Sep 24th for the ATH

because we are building insane volume right here right now in this tight range around 3500-4100. I have seen this severl times before. A big move stops and then we consolidate by building volume. I am sure this has a technical term, but I am mostly not a TA trader so don't know what it is called, but surely you know what I mean. Anyways this action always leads to a very strong break out move (like a loaded spring) in either direction. Will that move be up or down? That is 50/50, but if it is up it will be to new ATH. If I am right this should happen in less then 7 days, so I should be around 50/50 to claim the nice price.
Thanks for reading my analysis.

My suggestion to all BTC owners: HoDL! And if you have the skills & guts, trade a little (not too much).

within this twitter dialoge mcAfee said that jihan had tried to fork his NY-wife...  Cheesy

Well, there we have it. The world's first crypto-cuck, in John "Bath Salts" McAfee.

Now what could a "Power Top" possibly know about "Bath Salts"?

My gut tells me its important for BTC to stay around 4k for awhile to solidify a future floor. We raced through with the last pass and now its proving ground time. So... if I'm right, anything below 4k should be a good buy area.  Sure, we could go to 2k but would the market makers really want to cook the golden goose in a bull market that will more than likely see 10k in the near term.
For now its fairly noticeable that profit taking is happening above 4k and buying back below.
Anyhow its just me and my gut feeling.

The combined forces of Roger Ver, John Mcafee and Jihan Wu are far, far greater than anything the propagandized, Brainwashed sycophants over at BlockstreamCore can possibly summon.

Agree.

Well ... perhaps not, actually.

I agree. We need a floor right now. My guess is that bitcoin will be floating around 3900-4200 range for this month, than 4000-4500 range for the next, and 4000-4900 range for the rest of the year. This will be good for trading altcoins.

Also without decentralization, blockchain is just a stupid distributed database.

You should have been reading the conversations between me + Anonymint + Smooth + Fuserleer and others over the last 4 years in the altcoin section. None of this craptocurrency stuff has any value unless someone is actually able to solve the problem of decentralization, but it's not a solvable problem. All you can do is create a Rube Goldberg machine to obfuscate what your centralized system is doing.

They're just hired cab drivers. Sure they can control the car for a bit, even try and take us to where they want to go, but ultimately the users will just get another cab. Leaving them on the wrong side of town, alone, and unable to make the payments on their leased E-class.

Both users and developers have ZERO control over anything.  The transaction validators in all craptocurrency are designed to centralize, and thus be controlled directly or indirectly by govt.  Govt is who controls craptocurrency in the endgame.  This is why I abandoned this garbage for silver instead. It's not possible to solve digital decentralization.
