I was just considering buying up a nice sum of coins when price shoots up right before I was going to my local BTM Sad If $5000 holds I’ll just wait till another buying point comes, and if it doesn’t I’ll buy as much as I can. Can’t believe we rose a few hundred dollars in just an hour or two. Insane that a several thousand coin buy wave comes up and now we have enormous support at and above $5000.

Feeling sorry for you mate, but look at all those who lost much more than this, and consider yourself blessed, that's all what I can say.

Now $5000 is the new floor.

The moon is not a limit.

It's a little bit early to saay $5000 is the new floor ! Nothing have been re tested, this "floor" is only 6 hours old ...

Pretty correct. We just may take a slide back, that's not impossible.
I’ve already bought plenty during the previous dip so I don’t lose anything, plus most of my coins were bought below $500-700. Haven’t lost any since last year Smiley And to think that this is only the beginning is the best part of the whole thing.

We are looking at hundreds of thousands if we manage to reach widespread global adoption. Not buying more tho. It would be pretty meaningless in percentage terms at this point.

Same here, I haven't lost a single cent in more than 2 years I'm in the game. As for gains...

It's (always been) a wonderful day/week/month/year...

Story time:

Back in 2014, my girlfriend was at work and very excited about Bitcoin. She casually mentioned to a female co-worker about Bitcoin, explained what it was, and told her to buy some and hold it for a long time as an investment. The price was around $650/btc USD at the time. My girlfriend said her co-worker friend just smiled back and looked at her with this condescending face:

Needless to say, her co-worker friend never bought any bitcoin.

Why is there a 1.6k wall on bitstamp?

Someone trying to bait market sells so we can have a high volume consolidation without the price tanking too much (at least that's the way I always see these kind of walls, the ones that don't get pulled anyway)

Or bait buying, by keeping them up. That was the major reason I thought it was there on Bitstamp for example: to bait others into buying, after a strong rise.
Seeing how it is being nibbled away, we might be seeing a buying/selling frenzy here between major parties with opposite interests.

My first was bought when it was $300.

I regret having paid MEGA using it. Should have used fiat instead.

Yeah.... I have about 15 people in that camp. They all get 'stuck' on the fact of bitcoin being 5k or so....and think it is out of reach for them. I try to explain it like this

say you have some extra $$$ laying about from say an eBay sale....and I told you the odds were pretty good you could get more than 10% return in a year and you

put say $120 bucks into a bitcoin paper wallet...where is the risk? Odds are good you'd do better than a stock or a savings account...

Then their eyes glaze over because I talked about savings/investments and I'm blown off ...even though they asked the question and suggestions

The hard part is every year since 2013 I've repeated the same argument to get some bitcoin in the above manner...just stick your toe in....TO THE SAME 15 PEOPLE OR SO...

...and they still just don't get it ... I guess it just hurts too much to think about it with me saying this since 2013...and they feel the boat has been missed ..to late.

I'm sure at 5k coin I will have the same discussion with folk and family again.....I now understand how folks hoarding gold and silver back in the day and

banging drums about it going up ..from back in my youth felt..way back in the 60's and 70's

anyway, seems the trend...the idea that once a boat is missed it stays missed....

We've never heard that one before here on Bitcointalk /s.

These kinds of stories normally show up towards the end of a bubble. It's mania.

I've been trolling my customers for bitcoin conversation since June to get a feel for how everyday people see the crypto space.

Average Joe is now occasionally checking bitcoin price! They may have not invested or learned much about BTC but it's on their radar!
In May/June most average Joe's heard about Bitcoin for the first time, In July they heard a little more, August brought more awareness again and a few questions along with some speculative support. September brought out more opinions and naysayers while the price declined into correction. October is looking like FOMO month.
I think we are now on the horizon of acceptance of BTC as a "real" and "normal" thing by average folks while many new entrants are now learning much more about bitcoin and how it could help shape our world financial sectors.
Its coming faster than most had expected! Smoke that in yer pipe!
