What bugs me is that they not only make it hard to find, they make it hard to do.

Instead of just posting a QR code and accepting anonymous contributions, they use a third-party payment processor and want identification.

I went through that process several years ago but told them that they were possibly missing out on donations by not simply posting a QR code. It fell on deaf ears.

They don't have a clue about how Bitcoiners think nor about how much the Bitcoin nouveau riche could help their cause.

Needless to say, I haven't given them a penny or satoshi since. I love and appreciate Wikipedia and would love to help but not if they're going to go prying into who I am.

 Sadly, I fear you may not be too far off with that comparison.

 TBH, I'm really holding out for the Porsche EV's due out around the next halvening  

Yeah, Tesla is quickly running out of other people's money, and the bail outs are going to end at some point soon.

Not to mention that every major car manufacturer will quickly close the gap on the All-EV market within 2-3 years. Chevy just launched their Bolt EV. It looks like it could be a winner for the mid-range market. Still a little pricey for what it is though. But the govt fed tax credit helps.

Ok off-topic, but the subject of Tesla still fascinates me. Watch this cnbc video. If I had any stock in Tesla right now, I'd be selling into that fake speculative bubble that is no doubt going to abruptly end in another year or two.

Watch the semi truck launch. People are whooping the launch of a commercial vehicle. That's probably a first in human history.

Perhaps more than anywhere else cars are about branding and status. A Tesla says something very particular and more and more people will want to say it.

Whether they survive long enough is another matter, but someone's going to believe they have a future worth preserving.

plus it's at the mercy of any script-kid wanting to spam it for peanuts and fill it with gigabytes/day of spam. Just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean it can't happen. I would probably do it myself for 24hrs or so, just to make an "academic" point that the "mempool is full" bullshit and "we need an upgrade" can equally apply to a 8mb chain if one goes out and spams it.

You should do that. I'd be interested in the results of that little experiment. Of course, the results would be more informative if the mempool was spammed to persistently full for days on end.
