Care to elaborate? A gain is a gain no matter what. If you make a gain on BTC and then buy a computer with said BTC, you still pay capital gains.

Care to elaborate? Yeah, it's still taxable as if you'd sold it. If you bought a bar of gold for $200 and then bartered for something worth $1000 with it a couple years later, you're liable for $800 in capital gains.
