Fuck! looks like we are going to 7K.
Smells like a W-bottom to me: (ignore the colors) What we really need now are some ascending red candles. It would totally trick the bears. Many of us in the HODL Craefully Gang are not feeling too good, right now. Can you just leave us alone?

Don't forget to dump the whole load on Tera at $3-4k after watching each previous drop all the way from $20k.

One of the strangest but somewhat interesting price comparisons for gold I've seen: As for dollar values, that would be something like $1786, I guess. It's complicated comparing anything like that to modern era because amount of gold has increased a lot, but so has the population, and there was still tons of low cost of production, low hanging fruit gold to extract then from some hillside, and there's none now. Price generally never goes below current cost of production, with cost mostly being determined by diesel prices, meaning when they attempt to rig metals down to cost of production, the rigging makes metals act as a derivative oil contract until the rigging or financial system blows up. The other big factor is that oil will soon be priced in precious metals instead of dollars for international trade, and if it requires spending one ounce of gold or silver to mine 1/10th an ounce of gold or silver, nobody would ever do it. Such transitions to new units of accounts (oil priced in metals instead of dollars) usually have enormous revaluations to the upside for the new unit of account. Anyway, silver upside is obscenely higher so no point talking about gold.

Thanks for the info but you're off topic. The topic of this forum is the descent of bitcoin and how much money we can commit to eternally hodling for the team and it isn't about alternative investments.

You have gotten this figured out, exactly.. infofront.... If you create an off topic thread, then that OT thread will become on-topic (OT)... Genius! Haha that's one possible outcome of the experiment.

I dont think he is off topic especially, it relates to dollar and world reserve currency. A large part of that is related to oil sold globally in dollars even when its not in a transaction related or involving USA, thats part of what backs USD as continuing as world reserve currency. If that trade did alter substantially it'd be a big tide change. It doesnt have to be beneficial for gold or anything but presumably it lowers the worth of dollar if no longer used so much as a world reserve currency and likely it promotes alternates. I reckon all of that economic change does relate to BTC, its a globally traded currency and its very convenient over the alternatives. So good its avoiding capital controls and upsetting various regimes. I dont know if Satoshi ever mentioned any of this directly or even in passing, its a massive coincidence for BTC to appear around the events at that time though. Has the price become affected by news of BTG under a double spend attack. Its bad publicity, I know its not a problem for any good network but it just sounds bad and upsets the appetite of some newer players in a market possibly. 7900 is a long term trend, I presume even if bearish overall we confirm that area first

Rick just came home from work and asked "What the fuck is going on with Bitcoin, man ?"
I just shrugged and replied with "No idea, dude."
What do I tell him about this dump ?
I have no idea what's going on.

I love how all these new 4k resolution, 5-6k native contrast TVs that look amazing use PWM that destroy your eyes after looking at them for 10 minutes. The only option to buy are Sonys, which normally don't have it, or a few Samsungs that don't use PWM when backlight is set to 13/20 or higher. I think even the $1500-2000 OLED ones have PWM flickering just like Samsung OLED phones have it.

I think you already gave him a honest assessment. You've set enough aside to carry you to the next halvening. Light some candles, pour a drink, cuddle, and forget about it for a while.

Just tell him that Bitcoin has been put on a strict diet, as it became unhealthy fat. Unfortunetely that backfired, as it went into a hunger strike 5 months ago. How to make Bitcoin eat again ? They even tried feeding it pizza's .. did not work

Color me shocked. Well, no. Predictable. What did the b gold devs expect was the logical result of abandoning billions of $USD in specialized security infrastructure?
