In pretty much all of 2017, like every week, the upward market looked as if it was going to cease and crash any minute. Especially with all the FUD going on.

You'll never know it was bull run until after it's over. In hindsight.

It seems to difficult to know the bull market - even with the ATH flashing on the screen - if you are watching bitcoinity.org... fuck.

There was so much spamming of the bitcoin blockchain throughout the whole year, and threats of forks - and assertions that other coins were outperforming bitcoin (asserting that bitcoin was grandpa coin.. blah blah blah)...

It was crazy about the opposite being asserted (pretty much throughout the whole year of 2017), while the BTC price was absolutely in an ongoing and retrospectively persistent process of shooting through the roof.

I would take that bet.  I agree that 99% are scams, but they are not too likely to go to zero in the coming 20 to 50 years because there are a lot of suckers out there.. and currently, there does not seem to be any kind of force to really take down the scams - neither governmental nor private words of wisdom.  In other words, various shit coins and snake oils are likely to be pumped and dumped for a long time before the gravitation of value into bitcoin becomes obvious, perhaps when bitcoin is in the $10million per coin price arena?  or higher? hahahaha

I'm kind of thinking the same, or that they come out with their own possible independent shit token.., but seems that there is a 5 year development plan, so may be worth keeping eyes peeled regarding how and/or if this project evolves in some kind of direction similar to the initial outline or if it dies on the vine.

wasnt it a 6510 in the VIC20. it had added some dedicated i/o pins vs the 6502 or something IIRC.

or maybe that was just the C64.. i had both.

fun times but i got more into the TRS-80 line with CP/M and such after.

The 6510 was in the C64. I remember doing a fair bit of assembly and FORTH on the Vic-20, it could do a good bit with what you had. First computer was a TRS80 Model 1 Level 1. I still remember the game "Termites" followed by the game "Introduction to programming".

You do know that those pieces of sh!t old computers actually have coded into the hardware... or how do you call it... "hardcoded" software of translating computing languages from one to another by us not even realizing the actual technology on those sh!ty pieces of crap that may behold so much value and wisdom of how to just facetroll your keyboard words and just write epic code??

Anyway... not all of them have that. But some and most of them have and you can dig for gold into those old pieces of sh!t and just do basically instant free code translation between programming languages.


*edit(0): but that one you show in the pictures is not an old enough version for what I'm talking about... I think its actually "new".

IBM 650.

Of course it wasn't actually mine. It was owned by the University of Western Ontario where my brother was doing his undergraduate studies before he was scooped off to do his post-grad at Stanford in what was then called the "brain drain". We did have it all to ourselves at night though. He was still a teenager and I was still in grade school. Kids today don't get that kind of opportunity any more. They can't get away with shit.

As for my first computer that I actually owned, it was a TRS80 Micro Color Computer MC-10 with a Motorola 6803 CPU, 4KB RAM (upgraded to 20KB) and cassette I/O. Needless to say, it blew the old IBM 650 away.

I'd have a cheap Fiat (or a nice Mercedes) around, which I'd use to get the milk and bread from the store with my girlfriend. Fiat is basically Ferrari anyways and would fit together with the McLaren
