Interestingly, it seems that physical pain and negative social experiences are processed by the same part of the brain. Which goes some way to explaining why lefties think words are violence. It is possible that they literally can not tell the difference between a broken arm and a hurtful word.

We think of physical punishment as barbaric, and I'm not saying it's not, but it may be that the kind of passive-aggressive punishment we employ today is as bad or worse. There is not nearly enough studies being done in this area.

You can't really compare the two bear markets, because the timescales dont match, and the price movements are completely different.

If you do make a proper comparison, the 2014-5 market did not bottom until 18 months in: that would indicate a further downward leg in 2019. I don't think that will happen.
