Btw what´s way scarier than the possible china ban is MTGox. It seems that their problems are gettin even worse.
A lot of the people haven´t heard from the support in the last 3/4 days.
Almost 30000BTC are stuck/lost in tx....

Anyone who was around when Gox was 80%+ of the exchange volume, and they were hacked, and they caused a flash crash, and they shut down for a couple weeks, is certainly not concerned about the ramifications of total Gox failure in today's market...

But if you think it's scary, well... maybe we should take it more seriously!

Edit: Oh wait, why are you scared again?

Oh... you are scared for us. Well thank you very much. Now I don't have to be scared knowing that you have it all taken care of!

the market is not acting favorably to these events

i assume the official chain bitcoin ban  coming soon is of gr8 concern still

To be honest. TA is bearish as hell for days/weeks. That hearing was way worse than even the bears expected. It´s time to leave the hodl strategy. China and russia rumours are just lurking behind the corner...

You must have been watching a different hearing..the worst of it was the economic hitman, and they are probably all sad because it was Bennies last meeting today: (   Much sad, much print, no taper though... and soon the lady will continue his work... from these hearings I am expecting nothing too enlightened but I do not see them coming down hard, they will focus on the "entry and exit ramps" exchanges etc, and I suspect it will not be too bothersome, and infact will act as an impetus to Bitcoins growth and adoption and the rate at which wally street will get on board... Bitlicense is going to be like a red rag to a Wallstreet Bull, and hopefully they will not drag their feet too long on this.....

As for Hodl or not to Hodl? I will be buying the dips, and I see some of the alts are starting to have a bit of a wobble too... but I see no good reason not to hodl and aquire more and hodl.

Full hodl ahead captn' Aye aye!

Yeah, even the three bears panel were mentioning $10,000 coins. Just got back from the bank to deposit some more bear ammo.

I am so sick of waiting for the breakout from this triangle...

(that small breakout doesn't count because it was obviously a Shrem related manipulation that wasn't going to last)

Bitcoin as a concept is unchanged. It's amazing, and it's the first. We are in the "then they fight you" phase. People need to stop worrying so much, we have survived forks, collapse of the central exchange, silk road ride and fall, political smears, and an insane amount of FUD.

Seriously, if the whole EU AND the USA AND China banned bitcoin, it would still thrive in South America.

HODL.

Of course your contributions to the topic were way more informative and more helpful for the community. I hope you still profit like a MF from the current situation...

Hmmmmm delicious profitable GOXFUD.

Protip: Exchanges are a zero sum game.

Money goes in, but no money goes out. How is that zero sum?

So? Even if everyone cashes out their coin and the price goes to 10k, the cash in GOX remains and the traders who stayed and accepted fiat are now legal owners of that fiat. Gox eventually fixes it's transmission woes and as per the zero sum game, the traders who didn't panic get what's theirs in the end. Gox ain't corrupt, ain't in financial difficulty, but is suffering from bad management. They retain their fees earned over 5 years and have more than enough in reserve(btc and fiat) to get through the problems and in the end the only people who lose are that newb's that panicked on the back of FUD.

You keep flailing, I'll keep profiting thank you.

I don't think that summing the output transactions is a valid way to see stuck withdrawals. From my own experience a 5btc withdrawal shows up as a 34btc output. It's gox's system piggybacking it's own transfers on your tx fees. They number of stuck withdrawals is accurate but the amount of withdrawal btc stuck is much lower. A lot of that is just gox moving coins around.
