Heightened sense of smell is the bane of my existence. Some colognes and perfumes give me an instant headache. Those so-called air fresheners are just fuckin killer for me - they are not fresh at all. My wife refrains from wearing perfumes and I love her for that.
Some anatomy: the sense of smell is the only sense which is being transmitted directly to your brain cortex without going through thalamus (as all other senses). Smell goes straight up (no pre-processing). Humans typically have 5-6 mil olfactory (smell) receptors while dogs have 220-300 millions. Typically, we can't smell much (compare to dogs). I have a rather bad (low) smell perception, but every time before I have a headache, I feel weird smells. It has been going on since I was in my twenties, so quite a while. The greatest remedy against all annoying and persistent smell sensations is to put your nose into a jar of coffee and whiff a couple of times. It works 100% and is used in perfume salons for a reset. I love the smell of fresh coffee! I'll have to walk around with a small jar of fresh ground and see if that helps me out. Thanks for the information; wish I had some sMerits left to give. The really cheap perfumes are made from industrial methylated spirit. The most expensive ones are made from pure drinking alcohol, which is heavily taxed to stop people drinking it. Maybe the dodgy perfumes that give you a headache are the industrial methylated spirit based ones. Well I don't know if this is made on the cheap or not because the price tag is pretty high but this:  is an instant headache for me to the point of nausea if I can't escape. I think it's that woody scent which is weird because I have no problems walking through an evergreen forest and in fact I love the smell of pine trees. It's the concentration of shit and alcohol, does smelling alcohol fuck with you? Like sniffing booze? Naw the only booze I can't sniff is Gin - and that has everything to do with my misspent youth and a brain that doesn't forget it. |

We have never had a drop as hard as current one. Bitcoin difficulty kept growing for most of 2014 with some drops at the end, and in early 2015, but basically the difficulty remained more or less constant for over a year. |

All this doom and gloom, but I'm on for earning nearly 0.1btc today through funding on Bitfinex. So I'm happy enough  I don't deal with Bitfinex because it feels like too much counterparty risk. But the rent one can get paid is pretty indeed. Sometimes I feel that itch... and I manage to scratch it off. |
