The key part of seasteading is a higher degree of sovereignty. More than just a house boat. International waters is ideal. Any home in international waters needs to be able to handle the waves.

Our spar design allows us to live above the waves.

I am currently in a boat towing the platform out to international waters where it will be placed on top of a 20 meter long spar. This will allow the platform to be 5 meters above the water. The location we will be has 5 meter waves maybe once in 100 years.

Sweet, and rock on. Next thing to deal with will of course be pirates.

or nuts like in the "waterworld" movie.

without serious defensive measure in place im not sure how i would feel living on one.

The cannibal negroid creatures on North Sentinel Island are all the proof I need that whites and asians need to team up together to get rid of the more primitive, dark-skinned races:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/24/world/asia/north-sentinel-island-missionary-killed.html

Throughout history, sailors have been terrified of winding up marooned on deserted islands due to cannibals.  This is not some type of new thing.  We've just gotten rid of most of the cannibal negroids over time, but places like this still remain.  This is the natural evolutionary form of people in places like Africa, or the creatures on this island.  If you let them into your lands, they reproduce out of control through R-selection and revert back to negroid cannibalism again, destroying everything in their path.

me? i never merited roach for anything.

i figure if you are your own sovereign nation you need to be able to defend it. lotta nuts in the world.

and such a place would need a lot of redundancy in power generation and flotation.

im not against it (seasteading) but nature tends to be unfair and takes advantage of bad or incomplete designs.

Ok so Ive been invested in BTC since 2018 with an average cost basis of about 8k per coin. Sadly I dont see how we arent going to have at least one more huge move down well below 3k. I have orders to buy 3 more coins if we hit 2k. I dont want to sell rn but I am considering taking out a short position here. I believe in Bitcoin, but Im tired of so much losing in my first year Embarrassed

Could a few members help me out and post their best argument for why we already saw the bottom, or their best argument of why we are gonna have another big move to new lows.

Thank you in advance.

Stop worrying about shorting the final gasp of the bear market and start thinking about when you are going to long the bottom and how you are going to do it.  Much more profitable.
Well said sir.

You just need to be patient & wait it out. Don’t panic sell at a loss, most of us have, at some point been staring at massive losses holding heavy bags.

In 2014 I thought I’d made a huge mistake investing in bitcoin but I dug deep & HODLED. Even at current prices I am HODLING huge, huge profits.

Since the first block was mined, over time, the bitcoin price only heads in one direction overall & that is up.
You may need to HODL for even another 2 years but I can close to 100% confidently tell you that you will make very noce profits.

The next halving is mid 2020. If you can wait for possibly 12-18 months after that you will make obscene profits.

Don’t sell my friend....HODL....It may be the best thing you ever do financially.

Thank you for responding. I am not going to sell my coins for many years, even if it goes to zero, I can afford to lose what I bought. I am thinking of taking a short position on margin that is significantly smaller than the coins I own. I think the bottom is not in yet, but would like to be wrong. I have a job that pays well and I will buy more if 2k comes and then I am not investing anymore, bc I cant afford to lose more than 40k right now.

My question is can you or anyone else give me their best argument as to why the bottom is in or not. I feel longer term investors than myself might have better insight than me so that is why I ask. Last of the V8 gave a nice list which I appreciate and I would be interested in your best argument if you care to tell me. Thank you.

If you're going to put your money on the line partially on the basis of the opinion of a bunch of hopelessly compromised internet strangers you're doing it very wrong indeed. If you don't have your own insight, don't do it.

Right, I've just set my hydro-electric powered, gas-cooled, massive AI super computer operation into my regular, proprietary 'market trends analysis mode', analysing crucial data across trade levels and prices in over 200 world currencies, major precious metals, internationally traded commodity prices, macro stuff like central bank interest rates and well over 2000 cryptocurrency market prices on countless exchanges - all in order to pump out the sophisticated data answers I need to predict the Bitcoin price.

However, I need a little help.  It's just stalled and on screen all it says is:

You have choosen to enter the Market. That was a good desicion per se. If you beleive in the whole Idea, and review the Market cycles of the last years, in the end it won´t matter that much if the price will decline some more or not. I personally don´t think it will go to 2k. But i think it will go below 3K, even just for a short Time. Just like others have stated aleady, whatch the Volumes to get a feeling if capitulation is there or not.
Bitcoin is crazy! it may fall or rise at any given time. This Market is so hard to predict, but in the greater picture any price below 4K is a good price to enter. Accumulate and hold and you´ll be fine in 2 years! Good luck.

OT Conspiracy Theory of the Day: Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)

Anyone who has been even half asleep has known that in the last 6-7 years, California has seen a mass exodus of the populous moving from the insanely expensive, overcrowded mega cities like Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Francisco in the south/middle/west coast, and heading northward and eastward where housing is more affordable (relatively) and the cost of living is far cheaper. Even though these people have much longer work commutes, sometimes several hours, it is still worth it for them.

But then, enter PG&E's woes. Massive *rural* forest fires, presumably started by the company's under-maintained infrastructure and equipment. Like the recent Camp Fire of Nov 2018. Now the company is on the edge of complete and total bankruptcy from having to respond to litigation liabilities coming from that fire and others like it in recent years past.

These well-timed rural fires, I mean how fucking convenient, right? PG&E services the northern 2/3rd of *all* of California, which constitutes about 5.2 million households (and growing rapidly due to the massive inflow of people from the south).

A little too convenient if you ask me...   Roll Eyes

I have thought about this, thats why I said I have orders to buy 3 more coins at 2k. Thats all I can afford to lose. It will bring my total investment to almost 40k. I will not invest another dollar after that. All ive known investing in Bitcoin is a terrible bear market and its hard not to worry as early adopters dump on my face Cry, but thank you for the advice.

Im interested in hearing other Bitcoiners best argument(s) as to why the bottom is not in yet(i believe it isnt but hope im wrong). If you have one id love to hear it. If not thanks anyway.

You could look into Hyperwave theory - but that is really hard stuff predicting courses below 1k (and no one knows if bitcoin really behaves like the stock markets).
