Visiting Hong Kong.
There are about 30 ATMs here and a few places where you can pay in BTC.
Here in Kowloon, on Chatham Rd.

Cool pictures from kenzawak.

You know, now that I think about it, universality is also a good real word use of BTC.

Rather than paying your bank everytime you want to get money in another country than your home region you can simply pay in BTC! Or at least use BTC ATM.

I remember that visiting Hungary I paid about 8% of fees jsut to change from euro to Florint. Because you had first to cash out (5% fee) then to convert (3% fee).

So using BTC in this situation is actually pretty nice!

You're absolutely right. Here in the Philippines the ability to convert money is a pretty big deal because the country's #1 source of income is money brought in from overseas workers. When I first landed in Manila I went straight to a bitcoin ATM in the "posh" neighborhood and cashed out some pesos. Because it took 15 minutes to confirm, the security guard at the hotel the machine was in thought I was an idiot and told me I should just go to a regular bank. And he's right, I am an idiot, but for other reasons.

"I may be an idiot, but there is one thing that I am not, sir, and that sir, is an idiot." - Peter Griffin.

I'm starting to get the fear.

Looking into my crystal ball, I see 2019 filled with nothing but continued languid misery.

Good!

I'm glad so many people are bearish!

I tried another address tonight, one that I found on coinmap. It turned out to be an outcall massage and I'm pretty sure they don't stop at the "regular massage".

All I've been asking for is that the principles of logic, reason, and mathematics are adhered to. Which is fully consistent with 'the negative has not been proven'.

You really don't though.

Yes. I do.

Quote
You force feed your opinion down peoples' throats by insinuating that if they don't agree with them they must be intellectually inferior.

Bullshit. If my posts make you feel intellectually inferior, then that's on you. I may have demeaned you personally once or twice, but that would only have been replying in kind to insult you were hurling.

Quote
And incredibly, you're wrong far more often than right. Do you use the same principles when making your spectacularly wrong predictions about BCH and SV price movement?

I can admit those were bad calls. Financially. So far. But from a technical perspective.... I anticipate the market will come around to the superior solution. Admittedly, becoming less sure of this as time goes on. What's the saying? Oh yeah. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

Thought of the Day: Bitcoin market downturns create new hodlers with conviction

Why?

If a person is convinced Bitcoin is a revolutionary digital asset, and buys the bull run at say $10k, when the downturn comes is he/she thinking:

1. I should just sell above my buy-in price, take a profit, and walk away forever. Never to buy bitcoin again.

--or--

2. I should sell now so I can buy lower, possibly doubling or tripling the amount of bitcoin I initially bought.

#2 is the obvious answer. It's not more short term fiat profit they really wanted all along, it was more bitcoin they wanted. They already knew this going in, whatever they bought/own was not enough.
