Heavy weights like suchmoon, Lauda, achow101, The Pharmacist got removed from DT1. Tbh I don't expect to stay there for a very long time.

achow101 is a core developer (or contributor) as far as I know. Why did he get removed is beyond me. If he doesn't deserve to be a DT1 member, why the fuck do I?

Anyway I am happy to be included in DT1 but tbh I don't really care. Actually, I don't want to care.

Being a DT member gets you into drama. I don't want any of it.
They will comeback in no time again. Whats wrong with achow101? I never seen him in the drama.

That's my question. What's wrong with suchmoon? I don't understand why they got removed.

Theymos picked a random selection of 100 users from all the eligible ones, that this month happened to be 111.
So no ad-personam actions, supposedly: just randomness.

Yes, fillippone's explanation here is accurate.

From the start of this year's changes in the trust system, theymos had been saying that he would be employing a kind of randomness, once the eligible DT1 list got above 100, so this month, since the eligible list was merely 111 (only 11 above 100), thus only 11 members would be randomly removed from becoming or being added to DT1, and therefore inclusion/exclusion from DT1 is mostly likely currently, once you are eligible, but there is a bit less than 11% chance that an eligible member would not go on the list this month.

Of course, with the passage of time, the number of eligible DT1 is going to go up as more and more members update their trust lists, so at some point in the likely relatively near-term future, eligible DT1 members are going to have less than 50% chance of actually being included in DT1 for any particular month.

Seems a bit ingenious (or at least creatively interesting) to me....  (recent substantively relevant post here, by theymos) even though I still question the extent to which DT actually adds value to the forum, rather than contributing to some kind of semi-quasi-irrelevant popularity contest... which might even unwittingly contribute to the enabling of long cons, in certain circumstances.

Forgot to pay up this month... grease the palm... wet the beak... kick the back Sad

j/k

It's random:

More than 100 would be selected, so a random subset of eligible users will be chosen each month to bring it down to 100. This month 111 users were eligible.

Yes... this response largely succinctly answered the question, too, and concedingly before mine.....   Cry Cry Cry

Apparently it’s a max of 100 DT1 each month so every month some people will rotate in & then out.

Another GREAT (am I exaggerating, here?) point, more tersely, preceding my own.

My girlfriend had what turned out to be an ant trapped in her ear. And it was one of the bitey ants. We tried to drown it with olive oil like the internet says, but that only made it mad. So she insisted we go to the hospital, which was a waste of money as the doctor couldn't get it out. Try not to go to a hospital in the Philippines if you have the option.

The thing eventually died about 24 hours later, but only after it had bitten the shit out of her ear. She had bleeding and temporary hearing loss... All is good now though. Just thought I would share that fun story with you.

for foreign objects in the ear, an ear nose and throat doctor is the go to solution (they have the tools and expertise to not damage the eardrum). and bugs in the ear are a priority appointment, call and tell them they will get you in that day. im surprised the ED didnt refer you to one.

They did, that's immediately who they sent us to (ENT guy). They doctor couldn't get it out but thats OK because the situation resolved itself within 24 hours.

It's random:

Only one problem with this: nothing is truly random. I'll believe its random when I see Og fall off for a month.

Theymos gave his explanation as to why he chose randomly selecting members and its sounds a bit weird, but whatever.

Exactamente!!!  In theory, Ognasty and even theymos should NOT be part of DT1 from time to time for some random upcoming months.  I would speculate that theymos did not exclude any member from such randomness, including himself.

Indeed, I maintain that trust should be awarded exclusively based on trades or other kinds of financial transactions (escrow etc). Otherwise, it really becomes a sort of popularity contest, with con artists that one fine day choose to perform a sort of exit scam.

This might happen even with properly trade-based trust of course, but with much lower likelihood IMO.

By the way, Craig Wright actually is Satoshi for one simple reason: if it were not so, would now be shown the real Satoshi by move BTC from the old address. There can be no such thing that no one knows who Satoshi is, the community would certainly have reacted in an exhaustive manner to the grant of a patent to Wright if he were not Satoshi. Creator or Wright, or an alien from the future, the other can not be

Egging on the Future, 2018, Acrylics and Golden leafs on Canvas, 25,6 x 21,7" (65 x 55cm)

This time I'm representing Mr. Andreas Antonopoulos. Backdrop is a remake of an old futuristic distopic landscape.

To contrast his focused and unyielding stare is his crazy shirt with the egg pattern (with yolk looking like shining coins), which makes half of the title. The other half is of course his constant effort to push and promote Bitcoin.

The details below show how the Golden leafs do their 23 karat job.

The painting is framed as seen below and available for purchase.

I should sell my BTC when the price was over the $8100 and I regret to sell at this price after retrace.

I normally ignore newbies talking about pumps and selling as if Bitcoin is some shitcoin. But, since recently I was wondering what are the main types of sellers/buyers on exchanges, it is worth the effort to give a short description. In general, I think there are 4 main types. The first type are the whales that try to manipulate the market with the aid of some derivative/futures exchanges. The second type are medium and long term investors a.k.a hodlers. The third type are the miners. And the fourth are the average Joe-traders. I won't discuss the first three types. They are clever enough to choose some strategy and make some good profit. But I will try to describe in general the third group and more specifically the n00bs that are into trading for less than 2 years. They try to buy at some dip and sell at some local high. Normally, this profit is like 1-10%, if they guessed right. But since Bitcoin is completely unpredictable, the wrong guesses lead to losses that most probably will erase all previous profits in longer term. The problem of these guys is that they have no clear idea or a goal to achieve. They sit 24 hours/day in front of the monitor to spot some movement and sell/buy. This can't be done for long without some mental/health issues. They are just like those obsessed with gambling. And usually this doesn't end well. The lack of strategy, paired with the lack of evaluation of the Bitcoin leads to smaller profits and eventually to a loss. And the things are so easy to understand: Why treat Bitcoin like a shitcoin (which can dissapear anytime) and look for a profit, say 10%, while you can buy and hodl for a profit at least 1000%? I doubt that even the best trader in the world can achieve this for 2 years, if he/she trades on daily basis. Then why those n00bs believe they have some chance? Why it is so hard to undesrand that if Bitcoin reached 9K starting from 3K, it will for sure reach 16-18K in a year max? How these guys see the chances with the approaching of the next halving? Do they see this as impossible and so they sell every time Bitcoin jumps over 8K (not to mention the guys that sold at 3K, then 4K, then 5K, then 6K - some of them are still in a big depression praying for a bigger dip to enter again, like gembitz -weee). And finally, do you believe that if you have a profit like $10K from trading, you will be happy, when in several months you WILL miss the opportunity to win $1 mil? If you don't know the answer, go ahead, sell. But I tell you that you will be devastated and you will come back at prices above $30K and try to compensate with a similar small profit. But this is the way of life. The stupid miss the opportunity for a life changing profit, which goes into the hands of the smart investors. The question is what type you prefer to be. I've made my choice after I went through all the stages with a small part of my savings until I decided to invest all of it and stop trying to trade the pumps. And in this forum there are hundreds, probably thousands of establised hodlers with a long long experience. To think that as a 2-day/month/year crypto trader you are smarter is just ridiculous. People like r0ach, gembitz, etc. are a perfect example of former traders that were mocking the hodlers when they sold, but now they've lost their mind because of the poor choices. At least this is what I see from their posts. They are many more of course. My ignore list is getting bigger every day Smiley

Still going sideways in pursuit of $8k... currently $7818USD/$10265CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

This looks good except the currency symbol  🤪 Imagine it's in USD currency.

I thought I clearly indicated both the USD and CAD prices, listing the USD price first because this is the "Wall Observer BTC/USD" thread and including the CAD for the benefit of the many Canadian members of this forum, including the original thread starter as well as the creator of our lovely hats.

I suppose I could also include pesos, euros, dinars, pounds, rands, etc, but I'm lazy and it sounds like too much work.

Bah, work. Curse of the drinking class.
