Will honey badger shake off Gox like a pesky mosquito?
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

In case anyone is interested, I downloaded the PDF of the "Crisis Strategy Draft" and took a look inside.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/209050732/MtGox-Situation-Crisis-Strategy-Draft

The owner of the PDF is listed as Ryan Selkis, so I googled him. Turns out he runs a company that aims to "reduce volatility for consumers while helping hedge funds invest in bitcoin". Way to go with the volatility reduction!

Any long time bears thinking about calling this the floor (or close to it)?

Should have had some fun panic selling by now, but there's been none in the last 30 minutes (in fact, seems like the insider trading 2 hours ago was the biggest rundown we may see).

I want to hear from you bears.  How do you view the situation right now?  Slowly turning positive?

Jorge, you should have a "tip me" address in your signature.

Thanks!... But if you really must, I will be happier if you just pay me a coffee or a beer, if and when we met, someday.  Smiley

There are always going to be a core "club" of operators as well as others considered outsiders in any field of enterprise (including academia!!)

How true that is!

Wait ... all is not lost.

I heard thru the grapevine that Mark Karpeles is going to try rebooting his laptop ... the original one not the loaner from blockchain.

Things might be okay after that.

Why aren't the exchanges crashing is my question.

Give them few minutes

How long since gox site went down? I'm also curious why it's going up.

Went to bed and set buy order at 486 (btc-e), should probably remove it and see where this takes us?

Nice find....so Ryan has some clients who want to purchase cheap Bitcoins, so.....

He seems to be the "two-bit-idiot" from the blog that released the doc.

Why aren't the exchanges crashing is my question.

Most of Europe is asleep, and China is always kinda slow at digesting English news.
So false it is funny
