Day 2 of the Total Liquor Ban:
Think I'll take up smoking. Hah, j/k I already smoke but now I intend to smoke more. The "good" brand of cigarettes are ~$1.50 a pack. All the other ones taste like dirt. Somewhat ironically, the ones imported from China are the best. Hope the Mexican restaurant is still open as a good hot sauce can somewhat replace the buzz caught from alcohol, even if it is much more ravaging on the rectum.

Liquor ban, and smokes are $1.50 a pack?
What backwards ass place are you in again? lol jk

I bought 2 cartons of smokes the other day... $149... 20 packs..
Sure ain't $1.50 a pack here..
Also bought a pound of pipe tobacco just in case, you know, I'm a nicotine junkie I admit..

I have not noticed a reduction on the liquor shelves here.. I bought 2 5ths of 100 proof hot damn (because it is my favorite while sick to make hot toddies) and the back one was dusty..
I guess people like fireball more these days than hot damn? IDK.. $13.xx a 5th...

Should I buy a case of vodka half gallons to make it through? idk..
Stocking beer just takes up too much space and doesn't last long enough..

I do have a bunch of ec1118 yeast and bought 20 pounds of sugar so if worst comes to worst I can make some decent wine.. I was making homemade cheap wine for a while but stopped because I got bored of it..

We have plenty of pot plants alive right now, preparing for outdoor season, so I will be good on that, and have my full legal allotment here flowering under a 1k right now that should be ready to chop/trim in 1 month or so.. Looking good but I would hate to have to run my generator to finish them if the power goes out....
Better stock up on enough neem oil to get through the summer bug free..

Crazy times guys..

Gas is cheap but I don't have a lot of gasoline storage capacity...
I might drive my motorhome up to the station to fill her up, but it's still snowlocked in its parking place for another couple weeks atleast.. Still a whole lot of snow here..

People are acting crazy here too..

I wouldn't say nullius is a troll, but he glows..
Wonder if his absence for a while was because of incarceration..

According to me, If we talking about bitcoin price movement tracking so after coronavirus "Bitcoin" rates are down in daily basis. Bitcoin was very good impact from last 5 to 6 years but this year "Bitcoin" not beat their own profit records because of this Chinese disease that almost world suffers this "Coronavirus". Many organisations, business and all kind of work is stopped. But still "Bitcoin" try to recover all their profit and putting their more efforts to full-fill their client's requirements.

FTFY:  TLDR:  According to me: gobbledeygook

On another note, can we recycle the below blast from the past, cute image, towards the top of the curve?

Or am I being too bearish?

A high percentage of people outside of crypto world are selling their investments in stocks to dispose of cash and those who do not have shares try to withdraw cash from their accounts,
if there is a total collapse in the stock market, banks will limit the withdrawal of in cash.
Older people are afraid in these situations, they want their money in their pocket.

Difficult but interesting times are coming for those who keep a cool head, many opportunities to come. Wink

Everyone should take a look at this twitter thread on the Imperial College team report on COVID-19 and read the pdf of the report. It may be on the news tonight. Trump may call it fake news but the governors of US states and the CDC sure won't.

https://twitter.com/jeremycyoung/status/1239975682643357696
That doesn't sound nearly as bad as I thought.

WTF Is Going On in the Bitcoin Market?

Quote
Cryptocurrency exchanges experienced their largest ever bitcoin inflows.

9x the daily average amount of bitcoin was sent to exchanges to be sold from March 12 to March 13.

Price pressures have now eased.

Professional traders and investors were responsible for the majority of the activity.

The majority of available bitcoin was not cashed out, suggesting that most bitcoiners are happy to hold.

I was trying to suck out a dried fruit, obviously.

If the shoe fits, wear it.

You are the one who somehow managed to imply that the coronavirus outbreak was the fault of Austrians and/or Germans, by a nonsensical direct analogy to completely irrelevant historical events.  I object to that.  Don’t you wax self-righteous toward me, now—especially not when my initial response showed insight into German and Austrian post-WWII cultural issues, instead of simply invoking Godwin’s Law and calling you a troll.

I have been trying to get you guys together, and it has not been successful, so far:

Liquor ban, that's harsh! Think I'd also take up smoking if I didn't already in your situation, or try smack of something (not a suggestion). Ketamine must be getting popular in your neck of woods by now for sure! Grimey shit. Starting to realise I don't have f all bacci  Roll Eyes Usually I'm stocked with 1-2 kg rolling for heading back to the uk, but ain't got plans to go nowhere soon from cheap bacci land. Also feel like it'll be a waste of money right now, it'll be the first product to get looted hard if the night shops close imo. I'd feel like such a clown putting a big chunk of fiat down on that if there's a free for all in the near future. Either that, or take the opportunity to give up again. Addictions are no good in apocalypses, they will slow you down, make you weak and vulnerable to prey.

Starting to design my own "mad max" style front bumper for my mate's muscle car, as a safety net. He's got the wheels for a decent looting vehicle, need a proper metal reinforced bumper, ideally with some good spikes, for it if the time comes. Something that we can get in and out of places no problems, through most hardened materials, no parking outside nonsense. I don't think I'm really considering the "mid-term" situation here of shit being bad and getting better or worse anymore, I'm just planning for the worst case scenario right - shit totally going down over this. Imagine if you knew there was a chance civilization would starting crumbling in the near future, but you didn't prepare yourself for it? Your human animal instincts would be replaced by domesticated obedience, it's no good.

Also need to get a rifle, don't want to wait a few months to try and get hold of one, that'll be too late. Already put myself down as night shift guard for the gardens here that means we can live sustainability. I'm totally in the right place despite atm the borders closing in around me. Need some good weaponry to defend that shit though, hungry people are crazy. Fortunately, I've long considered that this civilization will inevitably collapse, just like every version prior to it, so have been mentally prepared for over a decade now. Just didn't consider it could be over this stupid virus, or happen in my lifetime to be honest.

"The last capitalist we hang shall be the one who sold us the rope."

Just to let you guys know, I have just now decided to start a rope selling company..
So HMU if you need some rope..

I'm failing to comprehend how one can believe in Liberty, but at the same time, be anti-Democracy, but I'll ponder on that for a while longer..
I understand the benefits of both, but fail to understand how they could coexist.. Unless we are talking about anarchy - anarchy for the masses, not just the few..
Democrazy is just mob rule. And we don't even have that.

Yeah except that doesn't actually work. Without reliable numbers and people being what they are, the only realistic method is to go in lockdown until it all blows over. And that may not be enough.

IMO, COVID19 is probably deadlier than most people think. Let's compare the recovery/death percentage of the most-affected nations where actual democracy exists:

Top 5: China, Italy, Iran, Spain, and S. Korea.

Ignoring China, Iran, and S. Korea:

ITALY:

Total recoveries: 2749
Total deaths: 2158

Percentages:

Recovery: 56%
Death: 44%

SPAIN:

Total recoveries: 530
Total deaths: 342

Percentages:

Recovery: 60%
Death: 40%

USA:

Total recoveries: 106
Total deaths: 135

Percentages:

Recovery: 44%
Death: 56%

 Shocked

These are stats of the people who were actually diagnosed though which obviously involves going to hospital & getting tested. The people who are suffering & need to rush to hospital are the weak/already ill/elderly.

There will be thousands & thousands who have mild symptoms who don’t seek any testing or treatment & recover totally 100%. These people will not be included in those stats.

The stats above make it look much worse than the reality is.

Its bs first they ran round testing everything, now no testing unless you get too ill to handle it alone.

So basically its farcical numbers wise

Observing $5,540 $5,651.

No sign of lower lows at the moment. I’m hoping we hit the true panic bottom last week at $3,800 or whatever it was. Feeling quite smug about picking up a handful of full bitcoin’s in the mid $4,000’s.

Thanks for the cheap coins weak hands.

There’s a new buzzword on twitter, certainly I haven’t seen it referenced to bitcoin before -

decoupling
verb
gerund or present participle: decoupling
1.
separate, disengage, or dissociate (something) from something else.

We’re decoupling from stocks/shares etc in the sense that we seem to be holding in this price range whilst they’re all still tumbling due to the pandemic. Previously we were following their panic. Fingers crossed the worst is over for bitcoin & we start to see the price rise significantly in the near future Smiley
