Don't forget the drop in carbon-intensive activities and pollution in general. Perhaps this virus is just Mother Earth defending herself.
I'm all in for taking care of our planet, as much as ourselves, but really? Let's scare and lock most of them inside, whilst the planet breaths for a second, so we few - that control things - can have a blast of a time fucking it up ourselves. We'll have to tag them, so we can track them though, like good sheep, for their own health and benefits of course. This thread is black sheep country, do you know that?

Those statistics are already outdated and are assuming that China has been completely transparent about their statistics regarding this matter. I don't trust China's level of transparency. I suspect that they only release numbers that make them look as good as possible.

The real question is, what would the numbers be if there were no lock downs, no quarantines and no changes in anyone's daily life. Maybe we'll have a country in Africa or somewhere that doesn't do anything and we'll be able to see if all of the "panic" was worth it.

You know what. We should get rid of aids too. Mandatory registering of anyone infected on a public list. Selectively fuck it out of existence.
You know what. We should isolate them in a region like the old days. Why should we let them walk freely on the planet? Your region would do just great. Oh wait... Ibi stop this death talk will ya, the whole tragedy is more than enough, without your degenerate comments. Why are you in favor of preserving aids? Are you one of those people who think that sperm banks with aids is a good idea?

Sweden has no lock down, most African countries Belarus's authoritarian leader Lukashenko tells everyone go to sauna, no lockdown here, no COVID deaths so far.

The question is when though my friend, I’m getting bored of being a pleb Oh, but you're not, how's that 200 coins milestone doing? Oh I thought this was reference to dark side of the moon. Cause when I saw this pic last night the price was going down to $6150. We need to get to the light side if we are to moon like novagratz says in that nice song of him.

Other than the people in this thread that are here to bullshit about everything and anything, does anyone on this forum still support bitcoin? The top sections are all altcoin shit. Oh, and whatever happened to the great new forum they were making to replace this Simple Machines freeware crap?
Bounties (Altcoins) 7476553 Announcements (Altcoins) 7149603 Altcoin Discussion 3032532
Many of the more smarties of the form do not hang out in the various altcoin discussion sections. There is plenty of bitcoin talk in this here particular thread, and even references, from time to time, to other threads in the forum that might have some good bitcoin-based discussions. So, yeah, accordingly, we have had a pretty strong tendency in this here particular thread to say "fuck you" to attempts at alt coin discussions in this thread, and to frequently nip it in the budd when it happens, so I am having some difficulties understanding what problem, exactly, you are perceiving there to be with the forum, as long as you choose the forum threads in which you participate. Of course, I will concede that in recent times this thread has a lot of corona virus discussions, but no one is pumping corona virus, so there are a large number of attempts to bring it back to bitcoin, from time to time, and even link the corona virus discussions to bitcoin. Jay, I don’t understand why people can’t see, now more than ever, that bitcoin is the perfect replacement for every other type of money. These altcoin shitheads that have literally taken over our forum are deluding and polluting the concept of cryptocurrency. I remember how it all started, a bunch of spoiled children that wanted to be first and reap the benefits of early mining came up with these variants that do nothing but distract the public attention away from bitcoin. Bitcoin is the perfect pandemic money. You don’t have to meet face-to-face. You don’t have to hand something to someone. It’s more reliable than a ACH/EFT for long distance value transfer. It’s transparent, meaning that governments can’t hide what their spending the money on (like buying or refusing to buy respirators). The only reason I can see for continuing to allow altcoins to dominate this forum is if this forum is nothing but a for-profit entity. Speaking of “for profit” whatever happened to that new fucking expensive forum we were supposed to get? Thus, again my fear is that WHEN IMHO, the stock market actually does dump out at 50% of the 2020 high of around 2/14/20...Bitcoin will follow. Not because that BTC is not a good value long term, but because people will crack at a 50% drop in the stock market and the frigging country is going shut down dead for 3-4 months! People may WANT to buy cheap stocks and cheap BTC/Crypto but real-life issues like keeping and paying for Grandma in the Nursing home will take priority. Thus, if it is so bad that the major Whale HODL'ers also start to bail out at that point. We are screwed. I'd like to buy more BTC at these prices long term but I am dead broke with real-life issues likely for the next 3 months as well! A friend said the good thing is the rental property will be 50% cheaper and he could buy one each. Until I pointed out NO RENTERS the university is likely closed till FALL and who knows about enrollment than would be enough to even find renters at that point and he likely will be laid off in less than a month! Tossing BTC/Crypto if it becomes a long term speculative investment into rental properties on my part, also long term, if that becomes the case for both, well, I like my odds with BTC/Crypto better, so I'm not gonna do it. So hopefully, and I mean, I really, really, hope....that BTC only also goes down to 1/2 value more or less....say $5k when sh*t hits the fan. These next 2 months or so with halving are gonna determine if BTC/Crypto is a store of value, unlike stocks, once the bottom price of both is hit? Or that BTC/Crypto is just a nice normal long term speculative investment you can dump quickly in bad economic times to fill your emergency/catastrophic fund 24/7. Thus as a 'speculative asset' it indeed may come back when the stock market hits ATH again, in what 7-12 years maybe? The next 2 months will tell. I'd settle for a nice sideways uncoupled from stock market panic approaching, IMHO, at whatever price! Also that the Whales have drunk enough kool-aid to not 'crack' under pressure to dump on top of the above, that would be 'catastrophic'! Damn, 'Black Swan Events' on top of the Halving! No idea myself wtf is gonna happen...but IMHO it will happen in next 2 months. I'm HODL'ing! I just hope others are as stubborn and will accept a worse case, long term recovery to boot a Brad

Non-zero chance that dragging things out increases the chance that it mutates and sticks around that much longer. We just don't know enough to determine the best solution.

Sweden has no lock down, most African countries Belarus's authoritarian leader Lukashenko tells everyone go to sauna, no lockdown here. It isn't over yet lol Also, even if there is no lock down, they are still changing the activity of people in their day to day lives which helps prevent the spread. Sweden: On March 11th, the government announced that it would ban all large events, defined as those for more than 500 people, following a request from the Public Health Agency in a bid to delay the spread of the virus.

Curious how much of the recent price action has been due to a miner "war" (speculating)? The hash-rate has dropped 45% since the ATH - any thoughts on why?

It's simple, the average cost to mine a bitcoin is higher than the current price so miners with a higher cost shut down.

If we see the history, everytime , there is an downtrend in bitcoin mining. It's also happened in 2018 when bitcoin has the bottom price after the finishing the $19k bull run. It's difficult for the individual miners to continue their mining . But the gaints are trying their best to hold on. After all , most of the miners who are in loss, try to leave the bitcoin mining field and we see, the hashrate downwards in graphs. That's it. It's simple, the average cost to mine a bitcoin is higher than the current price so miner's with a higher cost shut down.
yeah. It's for those who are mining individually in there own. They are going to shutdown , that's why we also see some up-down in bitcoin price. But all the mining farm or gaints are trying there best to hold their business and continue mining . If the gaints are going to shutdown , then anything can be possible for bitcoin price. So, hope that bitcoin will recover from this price and all the miner will be in profit after the Bitcoin halving.

You'll have to do better than that Ibi. I don't like many things, but we can't just round them up and shoot them out of existence. Let's kill all the cancer patients too, why only HIV? Is it clear that your narrative is total and utter bullshit now?

The short term price development looks weak. Like drifting lower slowly to a steeper and steeper plunge.
