Have to ban numbers as well; the countries with the lowest numbers are also the poorest countries.  Ain't nobody clamoring for entry to Romania, Estonia, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ireland...

So, been thinking pretty hard...

When exactly did we go from dystopian fiction being cautionary to being a fait accompli?

When people realized that they could take actions and get others to pay the consequences.

Quote
Clearly, Orwell intended his work as a cautionary tale. Emerging from the trauma of World War II, visions of totalitarian futures in fiction and film seemed to offer the viewer the chance to redeem the past by deciding how not to make the future. But somewhere, we lost our way.

Now, the trope of "the future" includes militarized cops and ubiquitous surveillance by default. Endless war and increased alienation from nature.

To quote Rick Sanchez: "God Damnit, when did this shit become the default?"

Quote
We can yet take 1984 as a warning, not as an eventuality.

The rest of this noise is bullshit.
To be brutally honest, this seems more of an episode of Atlas Shrugged than 1984. I read both books in the 1980's when I was a kid and recently re-read them. A.S. is truly a epic pile of crap with a very good concept:

What would happen if you could get other people to take the blame/responsibility for one's actions?
What would happen if people then stopped taking the blame/responsibility for the actions of others?

Objective Reality is not something that can be avoided, but it is possible to sacrifice another person so you can flout it.

I think that is where we are now: People want to make up their own fantasy worlds and show their strength not by producing or being a good person but by proving that reality no longer applies to them. They do this by sacrificing other people and have managed to get it to the point where other people do it willingly because of either guilt or fear that "if we don't work with these people, and give them what they want, things will get worse (tm)".

Yes the romantic subplots are crap and I have yet to see the greatest toilet plumber show up in Galt's Gulch. But the underlying concept is still quite interesting and a lot more rational than the sheer torture for the hell of it goal of 1984.

I would really like to do that homer, very much so. Amazing work yet unsurprising considering your other artistic talents. Is it sitting on a piece of nori?

Not nori but it is edible - beeswax.  You layer the colours and put a coat of wax in over each colour where you want it to stay and then wash off the colour once the wax is applied.  It's time consuming but the result is satisfying.

Surely makes you feel MOAR better while eating the egg.

I'm one step ahead of you for a change Mr. JayJuanGee.  I already ate the contents of the egg which I coloured with some diced red onion, sweet red pepper and a dash of Tabasco.

edit: you can see, it floats as I wash off the green colour

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still under $7k... currently $6767USD/$9456CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Last 3 mondays we had nice rallies.  It's not too late to make it 4 in a row.

Go Bitcoin go.

the countries with the lowest numbers are also the poorest countries.  Ain't nobody clamoring for entry to Romania, Estonia, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ireland...

Ireland is actually one of the richest countries in the world, ahead of any country in the western hemisphere.

This is old news VB1001.
These figures are from 2017.
In 2019 Italy DEBT/GDB is 134.8%.
but this already old, due to coronavirus impact:
https://www.reuters.com/article/italy-ratings-scope/update-1-italys-debt-to-gdp-could-easily-top-145-scope-ratings-idUSL8N2BJ8MH

145% to 160% forecast for 2020.

Brace yourself. (speaking to me, actually).

Ja, ja, I knew it, the news is not old, the news as you can see is from Plan B, I have looked for an updated map (just like you Cheesy) but there is none, so ... I have left the map of the article original
Soon we will be several countries passing 100%. Italy will not be the only one, we have bad managers in all governments.

OT: The U.S. stock market is such a fkn farce.

Example: If in 1992 you had told a General Electric stock investor that their stock value would be at the same $ level 28 years later, they would have laughed in your face.

But yet, here we are.

And look at that glorious pump and dump of Boeing stock since 2016. What a joke.

European union released this document:

Crypto-assets
Key developments, regulatory
concerns and responses

Quote
Abstract
This study, prepared by Policy Department A, sets out recent
developments regarding crypto-assets. These relate mainly to the
continuing use of crypto-assets for money laundering and terrorist
financing, the massive growth of private “tokens” used to raise
funds, and to the emergence ofstablecoinsand central bank digital
currencies. The study, furthermore, addresses key regulatory
concerns, taking into account these recent developments, and
suggests regulatory responses.

Fillippone reading trough it, but as for now:
Quote
As highlighted in our 2018 study Cryptocurrencies and blockchain: legal context and implications for
financial crime, money laundering and tax evasion240 and in more recent statements on AML/CFT, like
the June 2019 FATF report to the G20 Leaders’ Summit 241, cryptocurrencies pose serious money
laundering and terrorist financing risks that criminals, money launderers, terrorists and other illicit
actors could exploit. The fact that they are fully digital, easily transferable, pseudonymous 242 – and with
the use of specific anonymity-enhancing technology even completely anonymous – assets that
operate on a decentralised basis, makes them particularly suitable for money laundering and other
criminal activities 243.

Quote
AMLD5may only just be in full force, from a regulatory perspective, it is
already outdated and insufficient to deal with the AML/CFT risks crypto-assets pose today.

Well, German Banks have already adapted to AMLD5, and some Italian Banks have already started selling bitcoins to their customers...
Interesting times ahead.

Sorry to hear that nutildah.

I recommend something in a J frame .38 as a daily carry.  You are just so much more likely to actually have it on you compared to a larger auto.

Well, I just got doxxed pretty big time by a BSVtard on Twitter with zero followers.

I made one small slip up and it cost me.

No point in trying to deny it now. Even if I get this guy's so-far 8 alt accounts banned for whatever, he'll still be back for more, so I might as well own up to it. I have a few theories about who was waiting for me to falter.

Not giving the forum up. Probably just doubling down on researching scammers.

More news to come as it breaks.

Don’t worry about it, you’re safe in a distant country. Nothing that little bitch can do about it, have some rest & think about it but please don’t go AWOL. We all love you nutildah, you’d be too big a loss here.

Rest, recuperate & come back soon.

Solid advice.

A few months ago an Amazon package of mine arrived slightly squashed.

I paid a guy to smuggle in a .32 and 1200 phosphorous grenades from Bosnia. Was the next package damaged? I'll leave you to ponder that...

Thanks, I appreciate it.

You can leave me in coach, I can still play.

Shit happens.

No regerts.

Etc.

Just wondering how to best approach it.

What’s the worst that could happen, don’t take whatever I say as fact but you live (most likely) on another continent to this punk plus many bitcoin whales identities are known. Just maybe be more aware of what’s around you but the idiot you busted is probably a broke, spotty teen in his parents basement.

I’m pretty certain nothing will come of being doxed.
