Don't sell the corn. In 10 to 20 years, each one will be 6 to 7 digits worth of US fiat.

I don't want to sound gauche, but I have more BTC than I will reasonably be able to spend in this lifetime. Will be passing along a life-changing sum of coins to my nieces and nephews upon my passing. I believe I am on record stating that I don't ever plan on liquidating more than an additional n BTC in this lifetime, to give you some perspective.

You could look at some of those multi-sig wallet providers, like Blockstream, Casa or Unchained Capital. They also offer services on how to transfer coins to heirs upon your passing.

Other open-source, do-it-yourself multisig software includes Caravan, Electrum, Lily, Nunchuk and Specter, among others.

I have personally offered this to a few people as well by simply holding one of the keys and taught them how to use one of these digital dead man's switches to send me an email with the remaining key and instructions who to send or contact. You might want to do something similar with your estate lawyer, as simple as providing a sealed envelope or something like that.

Trash-80 COCO > Comodore 64.

Absolutely. After my MC-10 I got a Coco, then a Coco2, and then a Coco3.

The only advantage the C-64 had was a built-in FDD, but that was half the fun... installing the 512KB memory upgrade, third-party FDD controller, and external drive.

By the time I installed Microware OS9/6809, I was rockin' with multi-user, multi-tasking goodness. Installed "Deskmate" a GUI-based desktop suite.

The only problem was that I had no mouse so I used a joystick to move the cursor. Shortly after that I decided to take a break from computers and come back when they were more user-friendly. That was with the arrival of Win95. It took a while to get used to using a mouse instead of a joystick.

I think you are confusing the C64 with the Amiga500?
Neither the C64 (breadbox) nor the C64-II had a FDD built in. I omitted the datasette drive back then, went straight to a 1541 (external) FDD.
The Amiga looked much like the C64-II but had a 3,5" FDD built in on the right side.
Or did you mean the C128? I can't ffs remember if it had a built in FDD.

wake up?? for 50k?? *shudder* maybe 75k would be worth waking up for, just to hit snnoze bar while glancing at the chart.

i have lulz amount set to fire at 50k, just for reasons so ill know when it was.

Hmm, thanks for reminding me. However, i'm not sure as i was.
Reason: I have a (small) enlargement of the house going on, but it's still in pause mode because of winter. So i put the money me and wifey have saved in BTC in december. The work should go on within the next weeks, i have to cash out at least half of what i put into BTC. If i decide to cash out at $50k, i'd only liquidate half of the original BTC amount, because i'd have the whole money back. As things develop, i'd rather wait as long as i can.

Sir  Cool

EDIT: Read about modem hax0rs movies, wanted to add the movie "23", sporting an original DEC PDP-11 computer. It was a german movie, maybe it was translated/synchronized in english as well, which i don't know.

Battery's drained and the power supply i can't find for the heck of it. See you later (maybe at new ATH?)

For awhile, back in the old modem days, I was able to tell if it connected at 56k or at 28.8k (or slower) just by listening to the whishy noise it makes, sort of like white noise with beeps. There was an audible beep tone that told me I connected at 56k.

On Wandavision recently, they used a modem and I noticed they made the effort to use the shorter tones that would have been appropriate to the time rather than the longer negotiation which came later.

Finally got around to watching Hackers last month. Definitely worth a watch.

Btw later I realized the guy from hackers was the actor from "Elementary", which was also a very awesome tv show.

And trainspotting.

Also a bit important = when a dude is talking about retiring its "mostly" a person of 50-60y of age... Waiting 20y then...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

BTC is one of the most important things in a bitcoiners life, but much more important is to joy life and spend when spending is needed...

Everyone could get sick, ill, die at ages or whatever when its not planned and at 70-80 etc are some experiences not the same as when we are younger...

So always choose to live life at its fullest

I hope they learnt a lesson with GameStop!

I doubt it. Apparently Congress showed more interest in hearing the guy called DeepF_Value (the reddit poster who started it all) rather than shedding light on the shit that went on between RobinHood and one or more clearing houses.

DeepF_Value likely didn't donate (enough) to the right party.

Not selling at $50k. Decided we don't have any reason to, even on principle. Rick and I both have enough fiat set aside to last us comfortably for the rest of our unnatural lives.

Decided we're going to sell another mil when we're ready to start building on the ranch. The weather turned to shit overnight, so I suspect that's going to delay the engineering survey for possibly two weeks, but we are remaining patient, and not in a hurry to get the deal done.

Due diligence on a land deal the size we are considering is nontrivial. The agent repping us even commented "I've never worked on a deal this large for personal use"

You should build a structure visible from space like the Almeria greenhouses only in the shape of the Bitcoin symbol.  Oh wait... opsec Sad
