Nice pump.
Coming in handy as I'm going shopping with my Binance card. I'm about to go do some more early morning shopping, have to buy some more love for my car. I'm gonna change the motor oil and filter and rear axle oil and replace the coolant, and the distributor and rotor, it wouldn't start on a very humid day this summer, I had to feed it starter gas to get it going on three cylinders and after idling on that for a while the fourth started too, haven't had any problems since but I suspect a small crack or something in the distributor cap to be the reason so changing it, and it's about time anyway.
Still to do is changing oil in the gearbox, but that's a pain in a automatic, so I'll let a garage do that.
Winter is coming.
Also consider plugs/wires. They are high voltage, and as such, moderately high-stress. Modern ignition is much better than old ones, but since you mentioned a distributor/cap you have an older one. Go ahead and do the plugs/wires as well. Yes you are right but I already did them last year and was going to do the distributor and rotor as well then but never got around to it.

Precisely this. My friend who has been doing the standard meme things (buying shitcoins, selling during the last correction and setting his buy orders $5 below the bottom, trading with all his stash etc) now has cold feet because Bitcoin "is too volatile and manipulable by big players" and can't be convinced that it's any better than fiat or, as he says, "the old system" because of that. Seems to be getting him quite anxious and he just can't understand how I can hodl and be cool as a cucumber. JJG, your value post is precisely what I mean. Negotiation is the exploration of who gets what share of the excess value. I'd say it's almost never evenly divided and no reason it should be.

And also also, boy did this get expensive, all the fluids (and a spanner and a cheap glycol tester) landed just south of 150 USD equivalents.
And since I'm going to replace the cooing fluid anyway I will know the exact ratio anyway (50/50) so I don't really need the tester, but hey, I liked it and it was only 5 bucks.

Is this from those guys who recreated the Windows background screen and then took some more? I watched their video last night.

If I am following that last bit correctly, it is actually something I comfort myself with. Because we live in a world where to many of us there is this obvious low hanging opportunity and yet the masses seem to be 99% blind. That's the weird catch-22 in every life changing chance we get. If they were not hard for most to see, then it would not really be the opportunity it isin the first place. Chicken, meet egg.

Yep. Haven't had a distributor since 2000 and that was my wife's mini. My current car doesn't even have spark plugs

Going down yo!
Looks to me like a pretty normal pullback with the RSI on the hourly (and actually the daily) bouncing off 70, like it likes to do... Good even tempered price appreciation. no parabolas here yet. A good thing.

The last bit was just an aside to JJG. I couldn't be bothered to quote him properly as I'm still on my first coffee. I probably should have added a horizontal line or something.

Yep. Haven't had a distributor since 2000 and that was my wife's mini. My current car doesn't even have spark plugs i dont miss distributors.. use to keep a can of WD40 (or wire dryer) in the vehicles to spray the coil, cap and plug wires when they got wet.

Me either. I got stranded on the side of a motorway because of a faulty distributor cap once. Got religious about distributor maintenance after that.

So how does it work nowadays then?
Typically the points are done solid state and you just have a coil per plug or cylinder (coil packs). So no need to be switching high voltages around and no moving parts. Fans are no longer driven with fan belts either No more shoving cardboard down the front of the radiator on cold days.

I actually did the cardboard thing last winter, I have trouble getting the car really hot. One of the reasons I'm changing the fluid, I'm gonna flush the heatpack.

That would make me so nervous, I would constantly expect the computer stuff to break down and leave me stranded by the wayside.
