Didn't someone say that BTC options or futures are expiring today?  Not sure if it matters, but might be worth knowing the time.  Do they expire 5pm eastern time?  That would be a wee bit less than 2.5 hours from the time of this post.  Does it matter?

So was that CME or some other one?

And, it seems that the trading is over at about the time that we got the $1k green candle - around 4.5 hours ago...

It's so easy to be in profit without doing anything at all. Just buy Bitcoin, HoDL, and give it some time. No need to trade (a sure way to lose your sleep and possibly your sanity, along with your coins), no need to mess with shitcoins, no need to constantly check prices & charts. Just one simple, stress-free method that has proven to be a winning strategy time and time again. And yet, people still trade, still bet on the latest shitcoin, still listen to self-proclaimed "crypto-gurus" on YouTube advising them to buy this and that.

Take my shitcoiner cousin, for example. He made a meager 3x of his investment ($6000) since 2017, after years of stressful trading, not in Bitcoin, but in several shitcoins -- he could have easily made 30x if he had bought Bitcoin and HeDL. He has already withdrawn his profits ($12000) to buy some land and a large-screen TV.

Now he has developed a new strategy to become rich: spread his capital (the initial, and remaining $6000) on more than 30 different shitcoins. His idea is that, even if 10% of them heavily pump, he will end up in more profit than simply putting them all on Bitcoin and HoDL. I've warned him that this is probably not going to work out, but he's sure it will. Using all his $6000 to buy BTC at the current price of $63k, when Bitcoin price reaches $100k (and it soon will), he would have about $9500, a healthy extra $3500 in profit. Let's see how his shitcoin-spreading strategy plays out. I hope it works out, but fear it won't.

Christmas will be fun this year.

Believe it or not, I had exactly the same discussion with one of my childhood friends. And the guy was shilling the same 30 coin strategy (did they see the same youtube crypto noob guide or what?  Grin) I tried to persuade him to go all in on BTC but all in vain. "Bitcoin is ancient tech" that's what he said. His idea was that quote "Bitcoin can't go up 10000% anymore but these shitcoins can..."  Grin btw the Sh* coin was among those 30 coins he selected. I asked him how the he choose the shitcoins for his portfolio and he said that he basically just checked the top30 coins on some exchange and bought them all. He had around $5-10k to invest. Let's see how it goes for him. Funny thing is that I told him to buy BTC several times in 2015, 2018 etc etc but he refused. The last time I told him to buy was in 2020 during the Covid dump. So that's typical average Joe reasoning I guess...  Cool

Seems like the market formed a double top. There may be a small dead cat bounce but after that it’s only down I’m afraid. Welcome to the next long crypto winter. You should sell everything & sit on the sidelines, ready to buy back sub $10,000 in 2023.

It was fun whilst it lasted but the top is in. Sell everything now before the long crypto winter engulfs you.

Seems like you have no clue what a double top is.
Hint: second top is lower than the first.
But hey, if you still believe in sub $10k prices, i just wish you HFSP  Roll Eyes

I'm in a kind of bad mood today. This is the nicest answer to this bullshit post that i could write up.

You are such a "nice guy" OOM...!!!!!!! #nohomo

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah, i thought after this statement of yours for a moment.

I used to be cocky and really hurt people using words, mainly because of my social insecurity, in the majority of my past.
Short version of a long story: Life forced me to change. Additionally, nobody will ever hurt or insult me using words.

Of course, there was a bit of humor and probing intended with my response - and I do understand that some of us regularly attempt to employ tactics in order to NOT take certain matters personally, and with practice, we likely are able to become less reactionary and defensive as we had been in our youth.

At the same time, I will proclaim that it is going to be quite difficult for any of us who are actually humans to completely detach our lil selfies from emotions or even our second guessing the intentions of others when communications are directed at us or about us.  At best, we are attempting to manage and NOT be too reactive - but never completely getting rid of various urges to attempt to figure out if we had been slighted and if we might need to respond emotional to that.

In other words, not even this cat is a bot.

 Tongue Tongue Tongue

Just like BTC

How would a nocoiner know much if anything about BTC?  Just on the surface, there appears credibility problemas with anything that you say related to BTC.  Have you bought any yet, jorge?

By the way, I admit that I may have gotten a wee bit cccciiiiittttttteeeeeee in my earlier suggestion that we could witness a $10k or $20k UPpity candle in this here 24-hour period that ends in about 17.5 hours, but I will still stand by my suggestion that we are in a decently good posture for rapid UPpity, even if it does not happen in this particular short-term timeframe.

Unlike you Jay to nail a price to the mast, without numerous caveats and disclaimers or at least attributing a best guess odds, what came over you?

Jorge Stolfi likely had a huge stash and the "I hold no Bitcoin, Academic Interest only" thing, was to protect him against the $5 hammer attack.

Billy "Double Top" Nocoiner has had lots of chances to purchase a few Satoshies but continues to prevaricate. I did say to him get in while we were down at 30k before the $32k window closed. I got half a coin then.
I'd suggest to him to buy now or start DCA if he is to avoid gut churning FOMO.

I sold all my Shib's and bought DGB. Tongue ..... You f^ckers are so clueless when I was telling u about this coin when it was 0.00000700~ ish. Smiley  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes ... Now it will probably lose another zero and be 0.0001 for Shib... but meh... that's just like 30% only increase. I need at least 20x on my investments. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

*edit():  It was back then when I told u I sold all my dodge at 0.5$ that I bought under 5 cents....  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

I like how you are throwing around percentages... but how much in USD did you gamble?

Because 30% of $1000 doesn't excite me and much as 5% of $100,000.00

There's also quite a bit of value in having investments that have some level of assurance of downside risk protection.  Surely no investments are completely guaranteed in terms of considering both downside risk of loss and upside potential.. but many of us have found out, through the years, that our value has been pretty damned secure in bitcoin, even while we have gone through both upwards and downwards price movements, too.

a look at how inflation and consumer prices are moving in eu... Shocked

After everything that has happened in the past 2 years, we cannot expect anything better than what is happening, and it is the result of our politicians who are not able to solve problems, but only create new ones. I have a little satisfaction in all this, because all those who have said for years that Bitcoin will fail, are going through difficult moments today because they finally realize how stupid their plan "money in the bank/under the mattress" is actually stupid.

Sometime during 2015, I had a conversation with close friends about Bitcoin - everyone categorically turned down any chance to invest in something like that - and today they feel pretty stupid, and I believe they often think what they could do with 1, 2 or 5 BTC which in 2015 would cost them only a few hundred $.

Around 2015 I was an exchange rat..
At thanksgiving and Christmas I was encouraged to tell about what I was doing with my life while others were working here and there, I had to admit that I spent most of my time on my computer..

It felt shitty.. Like everyone thought I was just wasting my time and basically being a besement dwelling neckbeard..

Couple years later at family gatherings my hobbies got brought up again, early 2017 before the big pump..
I showed them a half cas coin at the time worth around 3-4K..

Still felt like they all thought I was a looser..

Haven’t had a fam gathering in a few years now..
Fuck em basically..

I was the only one to stick around and take care of the fam, and held..

They have no excuse.. I introduced them to crypto and I felt like they shit on me for it..

I could buy and sell the most valuable half of them now..

Don’t see them around..
Probably won’t..

PLUS, guess who should be getting a fat chunk of the inheritance since I was the only one to stick around and take care of ours..
I’m far to generous of a person..

No. This is not acceptable.

I have begun migrating assets off the platform.

If Bittrex wishes to retain any significant share of my business it will disclose the nature of the ACH issue and the roadmap to resolve it.

If Bittrex further wishes to become one of my primary exchanges it will enable hardware two factor authentication and segregated witness withdrawal addresses.

There is ample competition in this space. I urge Bittrex to up it's game.

Quote
We hope to have ACH turned back in the near future, however there is no specific timeline. Thank you for your understanding...

Quote
This is insufficient information to address my concerns. Transparency is key in this industry and I am not feeling it here.

Competition is good for consumers, and more is better in that regard, so I do hope that Bittrex overcomes it's technical challenges and becomes a viable, competitive and modern platform at some point in the future.

You may mark this ticket as solved....I'm out.

Speaking of technical issues with exchanges jojo, I have a technical issue with an exchange (named binance) too.

Setting BTC sell orders above $100k on Binance/BinanceUS on the BTC/dollar pair

Around late April early May of this year, Binance sent a pretty strongly-worded message to any of its members who appeared to have some kind of USA affiliation and forced those members to switch over to BinanceUS... I received such notice, and within a short-period (maybe it was 30-days-ish?, those apparently US affiliated members would be locked out of their Binance accounts).

At that time I had an account on Binance that largely I migrated to BinanceUS.

In March/April/May, within the BTC/Dollar pair, I had attempted to set BTC sell orders at various price increments above $100k, and their system did not seem to allow the setting of BTC sell orders above $100k.  The same seems to be true within both the Binance system and the BinanceUS system.   The system gives an error message and does not allow the BTC sell order to be set at any point above $100k.

I had searched for information on the topic on the BinanceUS website and other places on the interwebs, and a couple of weeks ago, I had also sent a support ticket to the BinanceUS branch describing the issue, and so far, I have not received any response back from them beyond the typical response that informed me that they received my ticket and they would respond to it soon.tm

Does anyone know if there is information available or some kind of trick or some kind of target date in which BinanceUS (or Binance for that matter) will fix what appears to be their technical issue of not allowing BTC sell orders to be placed above $100k?
