How do you test if a rumour is true?

sell 1k coins. hits a bottom? the insiders are buying - then proceed to buy all the coins you can get your hands on.

The punchline seems to be that at this time no one really knows for sure whether we are dropping more or NOT... I just bought.. so I am happy for a while...  until Sub $450 (if so).  I'm gonna go to sleep, and maybe I will wake up at $540, but I anticipate that I will wake up to continued hovering in the sub $500 territory between $480 and $500 - just a guess... I am NOT going to set my BTC price alarms ... b/c I need my beauty sleep... and if it flash crashes below $450, and I miss it, OH well.  I'm running out of fiat, anyhow.

i can confirm KFR was being sarcastic with his comment - this has also been confirmed by Proudhon.

not seeing the rumor hitting reddit, yet. However I assume once that happens all the chikun will show there colors.

The recent action does strengthen arguments that many of the Chinese maybe holding bitcoin for its speculative value. If the speculators outside of China expect a dump I would assume liquidity would appear to dry up as the market wants the cheapest price possible to soak up the fiat held for trading. I assume the orders become trigger limits with the bots and other people just responding to TA. This is somewhat supported by wave in to the 520s, buying up at what they consider close enough to a bottom. If whales or market makers feel there aren't enough coins being sacrificed by weaker hands the pump probably resumes as it would make them money offloading on the way up and again waiting for something they can manipulate the speculators to move with the market on and then the sheeple into selling on fear.

I really don't think I'm guilty of conducting a concerted effort to direct any vitriol towards him.
Indeed, I hope we can just stop here.

You hope? If not, are you ready to initiate physical violence against someones person? This is unclear to me.

As for getting a coin, I would rather not invest in bitcoin, but will use it for payments if I find it is better than the alternatives.  Would that do?

No. That is for the masses, those uninterested in the phenomenon. Set up a wallet, get some coin fraction, pay something to yourself.

I think there's a bug on bitcoinwisdom. I've seen extreme volume at times which disappear when I reload.

A rumour. Just a rumour. That's all it takes to drop 100's.
