Ah, you are right! It's not really worth it to go after the source of every image that's posted in this thread. The users who post such content should at least quote the link of the real source below the image to avoid any kind of plagiarism because once the real reference is quoted and proper credit is given to the original content creator then there isn't any kind of plagiarism involved in posting such images. Sure. Bare minimum should be to provide the source for substantive content, such as text, but mere images may or may not need references... although personally I get the sense that if the image has substantive information beyond some joking matters, then it is probably a better practice to provide the source for such substantive content. But your earlier framing of the question has to do with whether the smerit sender has some kind of obligation to research into matters before sending smerits.. which is not the case, even though you suggested that maybe it should be the case.. which also might be what some other members believe is (or should be) required. Go ahead. Propose your change to the current system. Such obligation does not currently exist... and once you propose it, how far are you going to go with it? is such proposed change going to be enforceable? is such proposed change going to have negative ramifications? you wouldn't believe how long my list is.

A lot of money is expecting a bull run until 6 months after halving. I am not sure how can we have severe retracements, even if as usual mixed feelings here: opportunity to stack more sats, bitcoin just being bitcoin vs the joy of seeing hyperbitcoinisation a little bit closer. I think we were robbed of a parabolic, blow off top in 2021. The macro financial, worldwide situation due to COVID and China banning bitcoin at such a pivotal moment in the bull run stopped us going to over $100,000 imo. This time we have multiple probable Spot ETF approvals by big players. I hope I’m not being deluded when I say, I think $180,000 to $250,000 is likely in 2025 at some point. Life changing money, brother. I also think a big part of the lack of blow off top was all the scam exchanges, lending companies, and other fucktards selling off all the bitcoin of their clients to buy shitcoins instead. These are certainly all valid reasons for the way the price developed after the last halving, though I wouldn't too quickly discount the fact that with every halving the amount of reductions is also 50% smaller, hence I believe (as others already said here) the effect of the halving we will see will be weaker with every new halving. I believe this will somewhat flatten the curve (pardon the pun) over time and therefor the following "winter"/bear season might also not be as cold as it was in the past, so to speak. With the 1st halving the daily new BTC supply was reduced by 3600 coins With the 2nd halving the daily new BTC supply was reduced by 1800 coins With the 3rd halving the daily new BTC supply was reduced by 900 coins The next halving will reduce the daily supply "only" by 450 coins (only 12.5% reduction of the first halvings reduction!) Ofc I'd love to see the price to go the moon in the next bullrun and growing adaption and the much touted ETF thingies might offset the above described effect of weaker halvings to some degree. We'll see, but I consider everything 6-figure ATH in the next two years as perfectly fine for my expectations. (Could perfectly live with a 300k ATH too, no problem there  ) |

But if the BTC price goes up before it comes back down, then our cushion above the 200-week moving average likely becomes higher so then, it would become less likely to be breached, but still 20% to 50% corrections frequently feel "more severe" than sub 15% corrections, and it seems to me that the 20% to 50% have not been unusual, even during bullish-like runs. Still might be a dilemma for people who don't have 10 BTC, and who might be working on getting towards reaching BTC accumulation goals that are much smaller than 10 BTC, and still many of us likely realize that you have to start from where you are at, rather than where you wished that you might be, and if you do not have as many BTC as you would like to have, then keep on stacking those sats. No one said that the first years of stacking are necessarily going to be easy, even though they might appear to have had been easier for some of the peeps who have been in BTC for 5 years or longer.. and maybe even 12 or more years if we are considering Atlas (if he happens to still be alive). |

Some skeptic were waiting for 12k which never come and now they are waiting for 20k which won't see the light as well. Not wasting time thinking about them while its not too late to join the party. |

I think we were robbed of a parabolic, blow off top in 2021. The macro financial, worldwide situation due to COVID and China banning bitcoin at such a pivotal moment in the bull run stopped us going to over $100,000 imo. This time we have multiple probable Spot ETF approvals by big players. I hope I’m not being deluded when I say, I think $180,000 to $250,000 is likely in 2025 at some point. Life changing money, brother. I also think a big part of the lack of blow off top was all the scam exchanges, lending companies, and other fucktards selling off all the bitcoin of their clients to buy shitcoins instead. I believe that one day we (as a race, and not the esteemed members of WO who already appreciate this) will look back at this and say 'what were we thinking?' We swapped the most valuable thing on the planet for some worthless garbage so that we could trade that for FIAT (more worthless garbage). I guess the only way to learn is the hard way for many people. |

Hope everyone is buying these sweet sweet coins. Not many more will be sold sub $30k.
Those paying attention do understand that the 30k zone is about to be crushed. The current accumulation is to build up momentum for what is coming as we enter Q4 of 2023. Indeed, interesting times are ahead. Oh? It's happening in Q4. I believe Q4 2023 will be the build-up to the anticipated bull run of 2024. Many crypto experts are in agreement with this and even Binance is also launching their Bitcoin mining infrastructure in October 2023. So, in my opinion, to buy Bitcoin in preparation for the bull run that will ensue from the halving of 2024, Q4 2023 is a good time to buy low. Oh? So you are suggesting to continue stacking sats through Q4 in order to be prepared for further UPpity coming in 2024. I suppose such a thing could happen, but what is your level of confidence? You appeal to authority ("experts" and "Binance is doing"), yet are you prepared financially/psychologically for other kinds of scenarios that could play out? Are you using leverage or over-investing into BTC in terms of your own preparations? Are you planning to sell BTC in 2024 or sometime thereafter based on the BTC price appreciation that you are expecting to take place? [edited out]

Anyway, since I'm here, let's talk about Bitcoin. Volume is decreasing... Price is rising.. Halving is next year.. Buy now, thank me later.. If you are merely just reading posts and posting from time to time, then how many merits you earn might not matter very much. Of course, if you are really inclined to improve your credibility and your reputation, then you could attempt to achieve something like that by providing post materials in the bitcoin sections of the forum that people appreciate... and surely if you are NOT really interested in the bitcoin topic, then why waste your time or care about it... and then just continue with relatively low "earned merit" status. It is easier to post more intently and better posts when you are interested in the topic, such as bitcoin, and with practice and perhaps seeing what other higher earning merit members are doing, there are ways that you can improve your post quality too. Inter-generational wealth is a nice dream, but for most it ain't going to happen even if bitcoin skyrockets. Why? Because you don't really have full control over how the following generations would squander it. Yeah, yeah, I am aware of trusts, etc. Still, sometimes "you can bring the horse to water but you can't make it drink". Typically, it is all lost within 2-3 generations (at most). Ah, you are right! It's not really worth it to go after the source of every image that's posted in this thread. The users who post such content should at least quote the link of the real source below the image to avoid any kind of plagiarism because once the real reference is quoted and proper credit is given to the original content creator then there isn't any kind of plagiarism involved in posting such images. Sure. Bare minimum should be to provide the source for substantive content, such as text, but mere images may or may not need references... although personally I get the sense that if the image has substantive information beyond some joking matters, then it is probably a better practice to provide the source for such substantive content. But your earlier framing of the question has to do with whether the smerit sender has some kind of obligation to research into matters before sending smerits.. which is not the case, even though you suggested that maybe it should be the case.. which also might be what some other members believe is (or should be) required. Go ahead. Propose your change to the current system. Such obligation does not currently exist... and once you propose it, how far are you going to go with it? is such proposed change going to be enforceable? is such proposed change going to have negative ramifications? I actually said those words because it would be somewhat helpful to research something in depth on in case of those who are constantly posting plagiarized content without and mention of the original sources, but I still agree that it isn't possible for merit sender to research each post before sending the merits. It's someone's own right to send merits to a member, and if someone finds a post interesting then they can send merits without asking. I'm sorry for the comment, I just said that to make things better for the forum, and I really didn't pointed fingers towards you because I really respect you as you have been doing really great for the forum and at the same time helping good posts with merits. I would really not add anything further for that change because I believe that the system is working in the best way and it doesn't need any change.
