Here's the trade, for future reference: so almost 133 BTC sold for $9798.99 each?? how is this not bigger news.... some eccentric whale testing the waters? a drunk day trader? time travelers from 2015? Bitcoinwisdom consolidates buys and shows the highest buy price. So even if out of the entire order only 0.0001 btc gets bought for $1 it would look like 133 btc got bought at $10k.

Ok, I understand the part about consolidating the bids. But under what real scenario would there ever a mBTC trade that goes for 1$?

It's Monday 11:00 am in China and Huobi again has very low volume, like last Monday Jun/30. That time, the lull was suddenly followed by a big rally at 13:00 (05:00 UTC). Will it happen again this Monday?

Hm, could it be that... the Chinese TV started showing some Wold Cup soccer game at 10:30 am local time (02:30 UTC)?
EDIT: if that is true, expect things to start moving again at 04:15 UTC.

I expect things to pick up at least a little tomorrow....*fingers crossed* It's feeling increasingly bullish. Looking at the reverse head and shoulders pattern on the chart you would expect resistance at around $650, but if the $640 wall is pulled there will be little resistance. If we go past $650 it will be a strong buy signal imo.

There we are... it took a bit longer than predicted: 4:27 UTC, rather than 04:15. Perhaps the game went on to the tie-breaking extension? Anyway, by that time it was lunchtime (12:27 local). So the volume will probably pick up for good around 05:30, like last Monday.

So BitchicksHusband was in Vegas this weekend (went to the UFC fight with his brother) and his 70 year old aunt (who lives in Vegas and he stayed at her house) asked to buy several thousand in Bitcoin! Then he took her to lunch today at The D and used the Bitcoin ATM there. Strange things are happening I must say.

Agreed. I'm seeing a Bollinger Band squeeze coming -- we are in a tight, tight range, and all signs point to a bullish continuation on all exchanges. I think we'll see a big move in the next day or two.

Article in the NYT today about how the government is making international transfers so difficult for banks that they are simply no longer doing them: http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/07/06/immigrants-from-latin-america-and-africa-squeezed-as-banks-curtail-international-money-transfers/Another reason for people to start using BTC. As more and more merchants accept BTC, hopefully people can leave the USD further and further behind. Get paid in USD, convert to BTC, send home, family spends BTC directly on everything they need. Given the rampant inflation in South America, hopefully soon the local supermarkets will start accepting proper hard currency instead of toilet paper that may not be worth anything in a months time!!
