I use coinbase wallet to keep my bitcoin. Coinbase wallet use lot of people. Because it use very easy . Anybody can keep and withdrew easily.
And what about fees their?
Personally i used xapo wallet since a long time ago and i didn't have any problem with them because they pay fees for us. and now when they start to set fees, I decided to quit them because fees are too high compared to other wallets. the current  standard fees are 0.00230808 btc which it's a high amount for just a fees.

I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

I stored my bitcoin in blockchain wallet. Think this is the one of the safest wallet so i choose blockchain.  Then some in trading site to roll and to make profit by doing trade in altcoins.

I keep my bitcoin wallet in blockhain, this is one of the most secure wallet which I select is blockhain, so I also need to provide security in my wallet so that it doesn't happen a

We all have to keep bitcoin in a safe place, with strong security and in a trusted place. I use the local exchange site to keep bitcoin, it is very safe, it has some ferification step to move bitcoin.

For me i think you shoud use a paper wallet or make your own vanity adress so you can have your own private key. Still the best thing to store your bitcoins is in a paper wallet.or just store your private key on some usb but still you should have a backup incase your usb gets corrupted. Or just put it in your local bitcoin wallet that you can trust.

What do you mean by local bitcoin? Do you refer to the localbitcoin platform? Well it's a trusted place to do trades but I don't want to store my bitcoins there'. I mostly keep my bitcoin now on an online wallet which is locally based and recognize by our government and registered so there's no worries at all.

I keep all of them on blockchain.info right now, the place is relatively safe and the wallets are not available for the website to have access to, Can restore it from Electrum if anything happens to the website itself.
My investment now is less than 0.2 and I use it mostly in online deals, so things like paper wallets or hardware wallets are too much for me ATM.

I often keep Bitcoin in my wallet which is necessary when you can use that wallet for transactions.

I am using an online service. Although knowing that it is not safe, I still accept because my bitcoin is very small .. after this there are more I would use a safer wallet.

I've been using Electrum for a year since I entered BTC, the amount of GB's and time with a medium-level internet access is few days of downloading and a 100 GB which is too much fro Core. Electrum has been stable and efficiently working for years, and I can even import the wallet anywhere with the secret phrase, so I find it very efficient and sufficiently secure.

I'am using an online wallet that is very popular here in our country. Aside from that, I invested some of my Bitcoin in exchange sites. I used it to buy altcoins and hold it till its value rise. By that time, I will sell it on a higher price.

I also use desktop wallet. It's safer compared to online wallet, I use bitcoin core and as long as I use bitcoin core I also have never experienced any significant problem

I keep them mostly in Localbitcoins, They cover some of the fees so I prefer them than a regular wallet and the TX's are send in bulks hence they can afford to put 0.002 or more into fee for a bulk TX.
I think about using MultiBit HD, I like how it looks and the interface and options as well.
