I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

to deposit my coins through online I think is very risky so in my opinion.we should be able to see the price of our coins if our coins are already in a favorable state should we exchange what we sell with the currency that applies in our country if in my opinion

Offline wallet because whenever there is a emergency or in case you need to use your bitcoin for other purposes maybe for billings and loads you can immediately use it and much more safer because whenever you go online threats are everywhere in the internet just one click of advertisements there might be a virus or a way of hacker to gain access to your account.

I just store my coins in trusted online wallet like blockhain. I also have the private key just in case something happens to the site.

I think the best way to keep you bitcoin is to purposely use it? Bitcoin is not a defined value it fluctuates and changes over time and for me the best way to properly utilize this chane in value is to continuesly circle it in different bitcoin fields rather than let it sit for a long time.

I would not trust an online storage site or an exchange with a large amount of money. I would only put money on an exchange for trading and I would keep some stored separately in a secure location. So the question is what is a secure location? Most people would say an offline paper wallet is the most secure. If you know that no one has the private key, then that probably is the most secure. You would need to make sure you keep the wallet address and private key where you can get to them but they are secure like in a safe deposit box or a safe.  As long as you do that, you should be fine.

Then the problem is what happens if you die and you want a beneficiary to have access to the coins. For this situation, you may need to leave instructions on what to do with the keys in a will or in the safe. I have heard of people keeping the public and private keys on a thumb drive, but I have heard that the data may not last forever on those, so a paper wallet is probably best.

I keep my BTC in an online wallet. I want to invest more on Bitcoin too, Please would you kindly tell me how to get the paper wallet? Thank you.

Never keep your coins on an exchange. Use a hardware wallet (or paper wallet if you're hard core) for your savings account/major balances. I highly recommend the Ledger Nano S.

better keep it on a PC wallet then write the seed code on a paper or on something that you can physically keep, try to put codes on it or jumble it then delete your PC wallet and forget about . just visit it after 10 years.

To be honest, I don't understand why is a hardware wallet the go-to bitcoin storage of people nowadays. Maybe it's just some hype that the sellers of this product has created because truthfully, it's just the same as a USB drive. The hardware wallet generates a wallet for you. You can do that with your computer by installing Electrum or anything similar. And then the hardware wallet saves the wallet for you and let's you enter the password (or maybe even 2FA, I don't really own one to know). How is that even different from a flash drive with the Electrum.exe and the wallet files in there? I think it doesn't really have any difference. Even if they copy the wallet file, they can't just get to it especially if it's 2FA activated. It's all the same. The only thing that you shouldn't use are exchangers, online wallets, or anything that requires your bitcoin to be held by the website itself.

Since you are talking about long term holding without planning to access your funds daily, erasing all online wallets as a potential choices goes without saying. Your best bet would be a hardware wallet (Ledger Nano S for instance) or an offline one, stored on your PC, which is advised to not have it connected on the internet. At the same time, keeping a backup of the wallet.dat file is advised.

However I shop my bitcoin on on the internet wallet (blockchain most if it), but thanks to this forum that manufactured me to understand that it is not protected and obtaining a desktop or paper wallet is better. Even now attempting to decipher which to use even though.

I keep my bitcoins on a offline wallet which I keep just to store, otherwise I have my bitcoins on localbitcoins(low volume) in case i'm outside and need some money in my bank account. It works very well for me and I'm very happy with it as of now. Smiley
I keep my bitcoin every part of it. The half of my bitcoin I invest and trading because the value increase like a rocket up in the sky so you money will gain profitable. Then the another half for me and my family,  I  support my family for schooling of my siblings, paying bills, foods and other for my gadgets. Use your bitcoin wisely for your future will secure and financially stable.
