it's all interlinked via the largest orderbook (USD). when you put in an order for 700 EUR, it will show up in the USD order book as 700*EURUSD*1.025

for any non USD trade you probably pay the 2.5 % cross currency trading fee, unless you just happen to match an order from the current currency.

the mtgox faq entry explains the basics, the details are in the forums here (somewhat buried probably, as this has often been discussed in the past)

So orders in USD etc will not show in EUR order book? To get an accurate picture of market depth all order books apart from USD are useless?

correct.

I managed more than 18% on my last round of arbitrage, all fees included.  I wonder if I'll be able to get 25% on the next.
I think he just confessed to having insider access to withdrawals. The people who did that with Madoff ended up being subject to "clawbacks" after the bankruptcy.

If he has had any communications with Mark I hope they took extreme care to ensure that they were private or very well thought out.  Even then both parties need to hope the other doesn't squeal when the chips are down.

Depending on how future enforcement actions progress, ya, there could be some clawbacks in his future.  When one's wealth is a result of others being defrauded it is hard (but not impossible) to achieve perfect innocence.  Working directly with the primary party in the fraud wouldn't help.

Guys, do I have to contact Gox to double spend my missed withdrawal or they'll do it on their own?

No, I use normal SEPA withdrawal.  It works fine for me and everyone else, and you know it.  But please go on and pretend it doesn't.  The panic it creates is very profitable. Grin

What SEPA country? Congrats for your arbitrage profits, but I have a hard time believing it or did they actually resolve their SEPA delays?

Strudle wrote the orig.  Not Nagle.  Big diff.  You might want to correct the citation.

They didn't "resolve" the delays but at least the delays are stable at 3-4 weeks instead of growing. As far as anyone knows.

As MtGox's market share diminishes and the bitcoin price falls, the queue will shorten.

I also requested some withdrawals, but unfortunately not all of them went through. I am aware of the alleged issue with their automatic payment system. Will update this as I get the funds (I thought this could be a statistically significant sample due to the large number of withdrawals)

New fun with gox.. "Invalid amount, limit reached" -even though the amount was well below my daily limit and more then enough funds on the exchange. After trying random values I was able to withdraw 300€, let's see when they arrive.

I'm not happy with the delays, but could live with that. What I can't agree on is randomly cutting down the daily limit, without even showing it to me.

edit: same thing with btc withdrawals  Sad

Got my withdrawal now.

Yes, that would be interesting to know. I made a ticket on my withdraw problem but haven't got any answer yet....
Any ways, lost a shit load of money due to the BTC price fall, those btc were intended to get sold on another exchange were. I just hope I get away with the price losses and won't just lose all of those BTC Sad

For the daily limit, does it reset 24 hours from my first withdrawal or at 12am midnight?

Thanks.

FYI - I transferred .424 BTC out of my MtGox account at 1250am CT on Sunday, 1/26 and because of this thread, found the transaction listed on http://skanner.net/MtGox/mtgox_tx.php with an OS error.  It just showed up on my Bitstamp account at 948pm pm on Monday, 1/27.

BTW, I also noticed, on Sunday morning, the list of MTGOX withdrawals over two hours old was around 576 - this went up to over 700 today and now (10:15pm on 1/27) there is 398.

This is unusual. Do they cite any reason for this delay?

I decided to transfer out because while i could deal with 100 over 200 plus markup  per bitcoin is retarded .
