I really hate to bring this up, but I don't really have a choice.

When it was originally stated that bitcoins would be used, it was not specified that payment would be taken through BitPay. While I don't have anything against them as a service, their rates are not reflective of the current exchange rate.

As of the last time I checked, BitPay asks payment in BTC at a rate of 66.783 Euro/1BTC, versus the current price of 73 Euro/1BTC. 73/66.783 = 1.093. I feel that it is unfair to ask bitcoin customers to pay a 9.3% premium for paying in bitcoin, especially when it was not stated beforehand.  Had I known this to be the case, I would have used PayPal.

2090Euro / 66.783 (bitpay) = 31.295389545
2090Euro / 73 (mtgox) = 28.630136986
Difference is 2.665252559 BTC × 73 = 194.563436807 Euro

I'm not trying to be difficult, but this would put me in a difficult position. Maybe others have a helpful insight to provide. I know that this was not intentionally done, and that BitPay offers burnin a convenient conversion to fiat. I hope that there is someway to resolve this where everyone is happy. Am I completely off-base here?

How do I delete my (unpaid) order?
How many confirmations does Bitpay transaction need for my order to become 'processing'?

I am putting in my VAT number, and it doesn't take the VAT off  Angry
For me it has substracted the VAT - you need to look a bit lower on the order total.

Nope. Not removing the VAT.  Tried it with and without "GB" as the country prefix.
I continued to Paypal, and it still has not removed the VAT  Angry

I remember that it didn't refresh when I did copy & paste, but after I entered the number manually it did refresh.
Are you entering GB and digits only, without any additional characters (spaces etc.)?

FAQ states:
Code:
I’m from a country outside the EU, do I have to pay VAT?
No, only customers inside the EU have to pay VAT.

Are you granting VAT exemptions?
Yes for non EU Customers, and if you’re running a business within the EU and have a valid VAT identification number then you don’t have to pay VAT. Please enter your VAT identification number at the checkout page.
Same here. It doesn't work when I am putting my EU VAT ID, still asking to pay VAT.

The site actually checks the VAT, maybe the verification server thinks its being ddos'd and blocked my site.

EDIT:
I pasted my VAT ID into field. When I choose country Poland to ship to, it excludes VAT from final price. When I choose United Kingdom, VAT is included! UK is not in EU?  Wink (I have business in Poland, but need to ship to UK...)

how will I get the refund? will you send me the necessary papers for that, or what? I am planning to make more orders, can you give me some burnin credits or something? Cheesy

we are talking about 500 euros.

MTGox is always ahead of all others in price. Most other exchanges dont see it this way: http://www.bitcoincharts.com/markets/currency/USD.html

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Tried both formats EL123456789 and 123456789 (actual number differs).
Still charging VAT.

My VAT is registered with VIES.

Now what?

All of those having their VAT number not accepted, the website is using this API to check your VAT:
http://isvat.appspot.com/

Especially take a look at the section "ISO 3166 EU Country Codes".

Rebuy the BTCs on Bitstamp for 66.74 € atm. Sell them on Mt. Gox for 72.10 € wait some months for your withdrawal. Undecided Just want to say the Mt.Gox is not real atm, BitPay's rate seems to be legit.
