yea I saw that order. good move

At prices like this, I would just assume take as much TOR off the market as possible :-) The only reason it dropped from $10 to $1 was because of Carsen's sell-off.  The coin is super strong with an awesome brand.

Carsen still holds 10 percent of circulating supply and coin has no dev. plus uncertainty regarding intellectual rights.. too risky at this point.

Well, a new dev will be hired this week - I'm not going to rush that process because I want to find someone suitable to the project's future.  Having an absence of dev for 72 hours is hardly going to hurt the coin.  I'm already in discussions with numerous candidates.  I'm staking the dev very well with 20k TOR/year, so it will be a longterm solid dev.  Finding a dev is really not an issue whatsoever.  This is why I premined so many coins - it gives me the ability to hire people.

Carsen holding 10% of circulating supply is hardly a big deal.  If he sells, I buy more ads to get more buyers and the sale gets absorbed by the market resulting in an increased market cap, which gets TorCoin even more noticed.  I may also simply buy Carsen's supply myself at some point, and keep it off the exchanges (private sale).  Then those coins would be removed from circulation indefinitely.

As for the trademark issue, users here have already pointed out that the Tor Project cannot claim a trademark on the name TorCoin (TOR is just word meaning hill.  You can't trademark a dictionary word).  The onion logo is a point, but that is EASILY tweaked if it becomes a problem.  So this trademark question is no concern at all.

I hope you will hire someone who has very good reputation. There are a lot of devs like that here as you probably already know. I'm really hoping you will succeed, even though I'm not invested in torcoin. I just hate seeing people getting ripped off

Carsen, if you are serious about no longer being a scammer, then BURN your coins. You profited enough already.

thetorcoin, what about putting your Torcoin into 2/3 escrow multisig wallet? Hell, if you believe so much into Torcoin long term success and price movement and you are a millionaire indeed, even 10 BTC fee for a professional escrow outside the crypto scene would be doable.

And try to find a way to buy Carsen's coins without going through the exchange if Carsen decides to scam and not BURN his coins.

I don't think I made a mistake in hiring him to work on the coin originally.  He did a good job - I have no complaints.
How of all the people did you even find Carsen?

This is so exciting. I am up on my investment but still hold a few TORcoins. And I think this project may be successful in the long run if thetorcoin is indeed honest with his claims.
These are either some very funny coincidences or a pretty fishy scam. Really looking forward to see as to what it will turn out. I hope for the best and am glad to get this profitabel real-life education as I am still a crypto-newbie.
If KC's and thetorcoin's claims are indeed true I wish them both the best for their upcoming project(s) and hope the right decisions are made. Ahh, as I said, so exciting. : D

https://TorCoin.org/torcoin-Qt-OSX-v1000.dmg

make sure to run a virus scan as this was produced by a third party for a bounty.

Can someone with a MacOS please confirm it is working and post some screenshots? 50 TOR to the FIRST person to test it out, virus scan it, and post the results.

hey folks I am going to be running some TorCoin Bitcointalk social media campaigns and I need someone to manage those campaigns for me.

Hit me up by email TORCOIN@PROTONMAIL.COM if you are interested in the position.  I will of course be paying in TOR.  Let me know your qualifications/experience in running social media campaigns.

Come on, why would be burn his coins?  That's actually absurd.

Of course we would all (especially ME) love for Carsen to burn his coins, but any reasonable person knows that's not going to happen.

What *IS* going to happen is that either

A) Carsen and I will reach a private deal for his TOR holdings, and keep the transaction off any public exchanges, thereby not impacting the price or

B) We will not be able to come to an agreement, and Carsen (being someone who is not longterm-minded, as I have come to realize) will simply dump his coins on the open market, temporarily impacting the price of TorCoin

While I would prefer scenario A, I don't think scenario B is bad for TorCoin in the longterm, though it would certainly hurt speculators in the short-term. Then again, I don't really like speculators.

Hi folks,

You'll be happy to know the situation with Carsen is resolved.

He didn't burn his coins exactly, but he gave them over to me.  I am after all the creator and promoter of the coin (he just wrote some code and put it on his Github).

As you can see I received 100k TOR from him here:

TSnR8sTXhoCowbc64ScDdTggNQEPqhAEyg

He holds another 30k TOR, but that is no threat to TorCoin even if he dumps them, and he is holding those for value store anyway.

There is no longer any issue with Carsen that can disturb TorCoin:

A. He is long gone as developer
B. He no longer holds much TOR

All is well in the world, for now!
